Went to First Watch in Layton for breakfast today. It was very busy but the wait was less than 15 minutes. Parking can be a little challenging but we got a spot pretty quickly.
We ordered a blueberry cornbread with lemon butter off the seasonal menu, and it was very good. I’m impressed at how well the combination went together. With that said, the cornbread could have been a little hotter.
The main entrees were a steak hash also off the seasonal menu and an original breakfast. I have to say the steak cash was really good. Had a chimichurri on it and another sauce that went very well with a decent amount of meat and more than enough potatoes and other ingredients.
The original breakfast was scrambled eggs with some cheese on it, potatoes and bacon. Again everything was very good.
They have a line of fresh juices available none of which we tried but they do serve Coke products.
All in all, while I’m not really big on chain restaurants, I would definitely go back here multiple times to try different things off the menu.

I was lucky to be able to attend the friends and family event at First Watch this past weekend. I had a good experience! The food was flavorful and it left me satisfied. I tried the Pesto chicken quinoa dish, eggs Benedict with smoked salmon, biscuits and gravy side, and the million dollar bacon. I also tried all of the juices. Service was awesome, everyone looked happy to serve you. The interior has a modern farmhouse style, not too cold feeling, but homey. My kids enjoyed their pancakes and waffles very much. High chairs are available. I recommend downloading their app for perks and offers! Keep up the awesome service and quality I received this weekend, First Watch! Thanks for having that event, it was my first time at a First Watch

*Updating this just to say that we had great service from MEAGHAN today (Jan 4, 2026).

Everything was amazing! Tried their juices and they were fresh and tasted great! All the food we have tried tasted amazing! Can’t go wrong going here! We went on a Saturday at 9:30am and predicted a 25-30 min wait but we only waited 10 minutes! Super quick and efficient service! Our waiter was absolutely amazing! Thank you Megan for making our experience an unforgettable time! Definitely recommend coming here!

It was our first time visiting this place. It was very crowded, but the waitress handled everything quickly. Our order was brought out relatively fast. I substituted the hash browns for fruit, and my Eggs Benedict with salmon became pretty small for $15 (including tax).

However, the main problem did not come from that, it came from the fruit bowl. There was a hair in it! I pushed that berry aside (my toddler was about to eat it), took another one, and it seemed fine. But then my toddler reached deeper into the bowl, and there was a cat or dog hair on another berry (I didn’t take a picture , I immediately removed it from my child’s mouth and we left). Disgusting!

I don’t know whether the fruit wasn’t properly washed or if it was handled with dirty hands or clothing, but the responsibility clearly lies with whoever was preparing the food in the kitchen.

For a restaurant at this price point, please make sure your kitchen staff change into clean work uniforms, keep their hair secured under hairnets, and properly wash everything they touch.

We paid about $50 for just two dishes and two drinks. For those prices and that level of service, our experience was very disappointing. I don’t think we’ll be back.

Great service and excellent food. We loved our server Carolina. I highly recommend the Lemon Ricotta Pancakes, Tomato Basil Soup, Smoked Salmon Eggs Benedict, Million Dollar Potatos, Pineapple Express, Honey Carmel Crunch, and Lavender Lemonde. My favorite, though, and greatest recommendation would the Pesto Chicken Quinua Bowl. It is surprisingly delicious and does not disappoint! The Million Dollar Bacon is okay, but not worth the $6 for only four cold strips. The Pesto Chicken Quinua Bowl and Honey Caremel Crunch are pictured below (I added the eggs).

This is a new restaurant for Layton UT. I thoroughly enjoyed it. The decor is very nice and the design is perfect. I found the service to be very friendly and the food was excellent. We did not wait for a table and the food was served quickly. The food presentation was great. I spoke to one of the owners about the lack of a military discount. I explained that with the location of HAFB and the significant military retirees in the area that it would be appreciated.

Outstanding Service & Incredible Food!
Megan at First Watch was absolutely amazing! She was extremely personable, attentive, and made us feel completely comfortable—no question felt too silly, and she truly went above and beyond. The food here is incredible and totally Instagram-worthy. Portions are generous, and for smaller eaters, the leftovers are fabulous the next day. You definitely get your money’s worth!
The prices are fair, the quality is fantastic, and the service is spectacular. We will definitely be returning!

Specialty breakfast and lunch items, quality ingredients and unique flavored spins on traditional dishes. I ordered the market fresh omelette and multi grain pancake, my wife a pancake and million dollar potatoes and million dollar bacon. We also paid for real maple syrup for the pancakes. All of it was delicious and you must try the bacon and potatoes!!! Many items on the menu I look forward to trying them. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Okay.
So I eat out 6 of 7 days a week.
I am a loyal Chris diner breakfast person.
Today I ventured out because I woke up late and wanted to just have something different.
This is my third time here in your restaurant.
Sam is my waitress/server. Sam was truly amazing and worked so hard cause I’m a very Picky person and Jon can testify to that.
Sam went above and beyond with my needs and as I watched her with other patrons in the restaurant she treated them the same as me.
With complete respect and honored to serve.
Thank you First watch for the incredible breakfast and thank you Sam for serving me and making me feel very welcome.
Today I enjoyed the Chimichurri steak and eggs hash.
Please make this a staple here and I will never eat anywhere else for breakfast but here…
Thank you for serving me.

My fiancé and I came here on December 19th. It was very busy around 11:00 AM. We had a wait until a spot opened up at the bar. While we waited, they had hot coffee the you could have. I have never seen this at any breakfast place in any state I’ve ever been to. Huge deal, and this alone made me score this place 5 stars. We sat down and ordered, and i had the breakfast tacos. Honestly, I felt like my meal was kind of bland, and i left hungry. My fiancé loved her meal, so maybe I ordered wrong. I definitely may come back to see if there’s better options, but I wasn’t impressed. The service is great, though. Great atmosphere, too!
