Classic diner with great food and friendly service
We stopped at Dotty & Ray’s – Salem’s Oldest Diner and really enjoyed it! The food was tasty and freshly made, just what you’d expect from a classic New England diner. The service was warm, fast, and professional, and everyone made us feel welcome.
The diner has a cozy, nostalgic atmosphere and feels like a true local favorite. It’s close to downtown Salem, so it’s perfect for a relaxed breakfast or lunch before exploring the historic sights. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in town!

I had the Hash Benny. The homemade corned beef hash is delicious my eggs were cooked perfectly and the Belgium waffle smelled amazing and my daughter enjoyed it.

Despite the busy Halloween crowd and being the only waitress, Mary delivered excellent service and excellent food. The skillet was massive and pricing is beyond fair for the portion. Will be our sole breakfast spot in the area!!

The food was delicious, I got the cheeseburger omelette (amazing), my husband got the biscuits and gravy and my sister got the terrible twos with pancakes. All of it was made to perfection and filling!
We will be back in on our next visit!

Our server Mary was excellent. She had a great personality and made our dining fun. The food was incredible. We all had leftovers the portions were so big. I recommend them to everybody and next time I visit Salem I’ll be visiting there again. Props to the cooks. My homemade hash was amazing!
