We ate at Pier 88 and the experience started off well, the host was welcoming, the atmosphere was fine, and the service itself was good. The experience fell apart because the meals were not coordinated properly, which is a basic expectation for a restaurant and a clear management failure.
My plus one’s shrimp boil arrived while my meal did not. This created an awkward and uncomfortable situation where one person had to wait while the other’s food sat, all because the kitchen failed to time the meals correctly. Proper coordination in the kitchen would have ensured both meals were ready to be served together. Instead, I received a vague, inadequate explanation, highlighting the lack of management oversight.
When my food finally arrived, it was shockingly small. The entire meal—two tiny fried fish filets, four shrimp, and a half piece of corn on the cob, literally fit into the palm of my hand. That is not an exaggeration. I asked the host and server to look at it themselves, and they could only quietly agree. It was the smallest “combo” meal I’ve ever been served.
They added one more small piece of fish, but even then, the entire plate still fit in my hand. Photos are attached to this review because they speak for themselves.
Taste didn’t make up for it. On a scale of 1–10, the flavor was about a 4.5.
The corn was watery and bland.
The shrimp were very small and lacked flavor unless covered in sauce.
The tartar sauce was extremely watered down and nearly tasteless.
Management ultimately comped the meal, but no manager ever came to the table, took accountability, or addressed the experience directly. That absence shows a lot about how this kitchen and restaurant are run.
Our server, Alexis, was fantastic, professional, attentive, and clearly doing her best with what she was given. She was properly tipped. This was not a staff issue. This was a management and execution failure.
Poor coordination. Extremely small portions. Poor value for the price.
I will not be returning.

Been wanting to check this place out for a while now and finally made it. Our server, Bernice, was fabulous! She took the time to explain everything and make suggestions, one being the temperature of the boil. This was extremely important as we were going to go with hot and she said it was way hot so we said “medium” and she then said that was on the hot side so we went with mild. So glad we did as that had enough heat for us! Everything was delicious and we had plenty to take home. Will definitely go back!

I enjoyed everything. First time there my wife and son and myself. My son and I had the king crab a CD split it we had an appetizer and it filled us both up. My wife she had a salad as a some other dish she’s not really into seafood. She likes shrimp at Joe’s Crab Shack in Tempe but it closed down.

We ordered the large Cajun boil. One lobster tail, a pound of crab legs, and 2 lb of seafood of your choice. We went with the shrimp head off. The food was definitely hot and came out fairly quickly. The shrimp was slightly overcooked but on a boil it is hard to perfect everything to come out to well, perfection at the same time. We went with the mild seasoning as my husband is not a spicy food eater, but I did get a little cup of the medium on the side and found it to be absolutely delicious. Our waiter was spot-on. Checked on us at appropriate times never let our drinks get empty, but wasn’t a hovering waiter. Made a nice suggestion for an ice cream parlor nearby. The only downside is someone brought their toddler who decided to scream part of the evening. I guess they never thought to take him outside to calm him. I have read a lot of the reviews on a lot of people complain about the price. First of all, this is arizona! Seafood has to be flown in from anywhere. There is no ocean here! Yes it’s going to be a little on the pricey side, but it’s no more than you would pay sitting at fisherman’s wharf in California eating the same thing. Will definitely try this place again.

We went to celebrate my friend’s birthday. And food is always delicious. 2 of us got the same thing except for added lobster on 1 plate. But the amount was a lot smaller than other times and compared to my friend even after taking out the lobster. The juice was minimal

Delicious. I drive 2 hours out of my way just to eat their boil bags. I have plenty of options in Tucson but they do not come close in flavor.

First time here. Had the headless shrimp boil. I really enjoyed it. Had the sauce mild with the corn cob and red potato. My friends had some of the fried dish lunch and fries. They said it was good too. I’ll be back.

We came here for our anniversary, and didn’t have to wait long for a table, but we did wait quite some time before we met our server. It took him like 10 minutes to get to us initially. We ordered everything at once, in case we had to wait to see him again. The oysters were fresh and tasty. The boil was flavorful, not overcooked, and the seasoning penetrated the crab and shrimp very well. The catfish po’boy was EXTREMELY delicious and a well measured portion. The raspberry cheesecake was good, but the chocolate drizzle overwhelmed the dish and ruined it, in my opinion. Our food came out in a very reasonable time and we did enjoy the meal together ❤️
