Lovely and attentive service from Smriti! She was super welcoming and helpful with the menu. I ordered the teriyaki steak soba and it was packed with flavour! Also had the pina colada which was sweet and refreshing. Ended it with a decadent chocolate and banana cake. Overall I had a wonderful experience.

A really good experience overall. Had a dinner with friend here and we got tofu laksa and sweet and sour tofu with rice and a side of salt and pepper chilli chips. We ordered their new Tokya iced tea. Service was amazing, shoutout to all the staff. I could use my blue light card discount as well. Vibe and decor is nice as well. We went out on a Saturday evening so it was a bit crowded. Highly recommended to reserve in advance.

The food was very good. Not in my top 3 places I went to this weekend but I liked it, the people were super nice, and because they made a mistake with taking our order that caused us to wait a lot longer, they offered us a side dish as an apology which was so kind of them. So I’m giving it 5 stars overall anyway!

There’s a lovely range of dishes with Southeast Asian flavours, including Curries, Stir Fries and Noodles.
I didn’t have high expectations, but the Banana Tree Curry with Tofu was rich and creamy and it was really comforting. The Sweetcorn Fritters were crispy and crunchy and packed with flavours, a good little side.
The staff were lovely and the interior was aesthetically pleasing, perfect for a group catch up with friends.

The quality of banana tree has gone down a bit from previous years. I did really like the laksa ramen, it was quite tasty although quite spicy. My friend didnt really like the katsu burger as said the bread was dry. The mango chicken was very sweet but I think she liked it. The coke was a bit flat. We ordered prawn crackers and never got them. However service was quite nice and still overall food was okay.

Pleasantly surprised by this little location in Soho! I’ve never seen a Banana Tree location before but chose to give it a go on a whim with a partner with no booking. Some other reviews say the place is a little slow on service, I found it fine but the place wasn’t busy when I came. I imagine when it’s busy, they are arguably understaffed.
The food, on the other hand, is amazing. It tastes great and is presented well and fast and the £10.50 meal deal is a good deal for the quality and portfoon of food you get with a drink.

I order the Sweet Mango and Lime Chicken. The food was very tasty and fresh. The chicken was soft and well cooked, and the mango and lime sauce had a perfect balance of sweet and sour flavors. The aroma was amazing and made the dish even more enjoyable.
