A great spot! The fries and ranch dressing are so good. My daughter loved the Mac and cheese. The chicken tenders were tasty and a good size. The milkshake tasted like true homemade ice cream. The staff were so nice.

I tried this place the first time a couple weeks ago and was highly disappointed. Decided to try again thinking maybe it was just an off day. Both times the chicken is bland so you have to get the sauce on it to get any kind of flavor. Not everyone can do spicy food. It’s dry and the portions are not worth the price tag. $18 for five small chicken tenders and two small sides? Ridiculous. Also, the mash potatoes have potential but it’s very runny, the mac n cheese is bland. I will say the deviled eggs have potential and are decent. The best thing I’ve tasted is the cornbread. It was good and fluffy in the inside. Definitely keep that recipe because it WORKS. Otherwise, I think there needs to be some adjustments in the recipes. Wish you all best of luck in the future. Thanks

Was having a decent meal. Mac N cheese I don’t not recommend. Very dry and just not good. Chicken tenders and fries were good. Flavorful and fresh. But I opened my drink ( sweet tea ) to find a tiny bug in my cup which come with lids:/ kinda through me off and left me feeling pretty turned off. 21$ for my meal just for me not to touch my Mac n cheese for just your average tender… I don’t think I’ll be back.

Perfectly, golden chicken tenders with the creamiest homemade ranch, mac and cheese, and mashed potatoes! The blackened tenders were packed with flavor with heat added to your liking.

Ended the meal with rich, soft serve ice cream dipped in chocolate and the other in butterscotch! The staff was kind and very attentive as they were checking on customers throughout the night to ensure top-quality service.

Lamon’s is a must-go and we can’t wait to come back and try more menu items!

I was so excited to try this place, but man…definitely need to work on quality control for the price. None of us are “food snobs” in anyway shape or form. We also grew up in the family owned restaurant life and know how things go. I hate writing reviews but after spending $75 (with tip) and the quality of food received, I just couldn’t help but speak up.

Since it was our first time, we ordered 2 tender meals and a veggie platter so we could have a little bit of “everything,” togo. I’ll start off by saying the chicken is amazing! Taste and seasoning. Perfectly cooked! The baked beans were also great. The deviled eggs are alright. A little too vinegary without much other flavor but not bad!

Now for the other sides… wow. The coleslaw was inedible. I don’t know what is put in it but it tasted like straight vinegar mixed with a hint of some sort of Italian dressing. It was honestly inedible. All three of us tasted it and threw it away. We also threw away our side of mashed potatoes. It wasn’t because of the texture because I understand they make them differently, but it was because of the taste. They tasted like someone poured a TON of chicken flavoring in it or something? Not sure how to describe it but it was terrible. We also threw away the cornbread we each got because it was so dry and crumbly, it was hard to swallow, lol. It, too, had a weird flavor that I can’t explain. My daughter tried to break it in 3 pieces and the photo is what occurred. It was like a crumb explosion. The macaroni was alright. It was pretty dang dry but edible. Nothing special. My daughter’s fries looked and tasted like they were sitting at the bottom of a lukewarm grease catching bowl, lol. So greasy, limp, and almost looked and felt like they weren’t cooked all of the way. We threw them away, also. My kid literally wouldn’t eat them. I LOVE homemade ranch but it had WAY too much liquid in it, making it the consistency of literal water. The flavor was still good, though.

I say all of this to say that we paid $75 for some chicken tenders (10 tenders), baked beans (1 small cup), macaroni (3 half filled small cups), and deviled eggs (3 halves of eggs), after throwing away a mushy/half-cooked serving of fries, a half filled small cup of the worst coleslaw I’ve ever had, a filled to the small brim of terrible mashed potatoes, and 2 literal corn meal squares of cornbread. Again, we aren’t picky eaters, but wow. I’ve never eaten anywhere and thrown away entire portions of almost every side item purchased. Not just because I didn’t care for it but all 3 people couldn’t even try to eat them. I hope it gets better and I say all of this mainly for owner’s awareness in hopes things will improve! We need more small businesses that thrive in T-Town. I’d go back for the tenders, but just that!

The owners are so sweet! We came in over winter break and there was almost no one there, but the lady (I assume an owner) made us feel so at home. Great hospitality!

Chicken tenders were great and soooo seasoned! Too spicy for me but it was my fault for getting too high of a spice level. The cornbread was legitimately some of the best cornbread I have ever had! The Mac and cheese was very good as well. Recommended this place to all my friends and keep trying to go back if I can catch their open hours. Wanna support the local businesses here!

I had a truly terrible experience at Lamon’s Fried and Frostery in Tuscaloosa.

First, the food was awful. The chicken was fried soft (not crispy at all), the mashed potatoes were pure mush like baby food with zero seasoning, and the macaroni was extremely dry. For the prices they charge, the quality and portions were unacceptable.

But even worse than the food was the service. As an African American customer, I couldn’t help but notice that multiple tables of Caucasian guests were checked on repeatedly to make sure they were doing okay, yet no one addressed me until I took a picture of the mashed potatoes. When the manager finally came over, instead of trying to fix the issue, all they said was, “Oh, they are not for you.” No apology. No attempt to make it right.

This experience left me feeling both disrespected and discriminated against. Between the bland, poorly prepared food and the dismissive (and frankly, discriminatory) service, I cannot recommend this place. Save your money and time — if you want good food with flavor and respectful service, go somewhere else.

I love this restaurant! I have been there twice since they opened a few days ago and each time has been wonderful. I’m a picky eater and a vegetarian, so I really appreciate the vegetable plate. It’s picky eater safe!

The ice cream is also the creamiest soft serve I’ve ever had. I just finished my meal and I already can’t wait to come back!

Every table was checked on multiple times. The staff were frequently making their rounds and even the owner was personally checking on people. It was a great experience!

Picked up a to-go order. Nobody spoke and somebody that worked there bumped into me. They are not friendly, food is literally disgusting. Macaroni literally taste like water. No cheese, no seasoning. Only thing decent was the fried tenders. To-Go cups for the sides are literally two bites. (Don’t matter cause it was nasty anyway). Tenders beyond small. 5 tiny tenders, and two sides came up to be $16. Be fr.

SO DISAPPOINTED!!!! Came today with my daughter for my birthday. I’ve been so excited to try it! We had the Nashville hot chicken, collards, fries, chicken sandwich and deviled eggs. The only thing that was good was the eggs. We love salt, seasoning and hottt but this was not edible! It was truly awful the chicken was covered in so much pasty seasoning yuck that we tried to scrape off but couldn’t get the taste off. I tried soaking it in ranch because we’re so hungry but nope the collards and fries tasted like you dumped the whole salt shaker in my very small cup. You couldn’t taste the actual food from all the salt and seasoning. I will say that once I got into the chicken, it was very moist but it’s sad that you couldn’t eat it! I wish I would’ve gotten a picture but I was just so shocked at how inedible it was that I told my daughter to just throw it away. We would love the deviled egg recipe though and it was nice day to sit at the window and people watch. Wasted $40 just to have to go buy food elsewhere
