Popped in because I was in the area and a bit peckish. What a lovely little spot. Authentic Australian pies (meat and veggie options) and I was glad they had an espresso machine because I was hoping for an afternoon caffeine pick me up. I had the beef mushroom pie and a double espresso. Will definitely come back next time I am in dt Burien.

This place is a Seattle-area favorite of mine. And conveniently near SeaTac!

They’ve got a great selection of different savory pies and other Australian treats. You can get yourself something pretty interesting to eat for a great price. They also have a lot on the lighter side if you’re more in a snacky mood, and plenty of frozen pies to take home.

Cozy spot with a fun Aussie vibe! The pies are hearty, flavorful, and come out fresh the beef and cheese in particular had a great balance of savory richness. The crust was buttery and crisp, just the right comfort food.

The place itself has a casual, down-to-earth feel with a touch of charm (I liked the little Aussie details around the shop). Service was quick and straightforward, which is great for a quick lunch.

Overall, a solid place to stop in for a warm, filling pie.

Great local pies made from scratch. I believe the establishment is run and owned by a family. Friendly service whenever I drop in. Highly recommend the beef & mushroom pie. You can order either the hot pies or frozen pies with the same fillings. Treat yourself to the cute fruit babies as well. They’re only $1!

A World-Cup-Inspired Detour… and One Very Good Breakfast Meat Pie

With Australia popping up in the news nonstop thanks to their upcoming appearance in Seattle for the World Cup, I figured it was only right that I prepare myself properly — you know, in case fate blesses me with the chance to attend a match and casually chat up a visiting Aussie. And what better cultural preparation than… pie?

So off I went to the Australian Pie Co. in Burien, and wow — what a delightful little stop. I ordered the breakfast meat pie, and it was exactly the kind of comfort food I didn’t know I needed. The filling was savory and satisfying, but the real star was the flaky, buttery crust. It had that perfect golden crunch on the outside with soft, warm layers inside — the kind of texture that makes you close your eyes for a second and appreciate life’s simple victories.

The whole experience honestly made me feel a tiny bit more worldly — or at least more prepared to say something intelligent to an Australian visitor besides “I like your accent.”

If you’re in Burien and craving something warm, hearty, and deliciously different, do yourself a favor and grab a pie. Consider it your own little World Cup training session.

We have been to this place multiple times now and have tried out most of their pastries and pies. Our absolute favorite is definitely the Lamington cake, we highly recommend it.

We have only ordered online, so not much about the service. The staff we’ve talked to were all friendly and quick in retrieving our orders. Only complaint is they once switched an item in our order for something else and didn’t tell us. We discovered it once we got back home (1 hour away). So we check the orders before driving away now.

The store itself is small and cozy with limited seating. There is a low bar by the window, a few 2 person tables, and a high table in the middle. By the door is a small station with free water, utensils, and napkins.

There is also a freezer with frozen, individually sealed take and bake pies. They are marked with abbreviations, with a key on the outside of the freezer. They also cut patterns on the top of the pies to help differentiate them. The key for that is on the paper envelopes they put pastries into. There is also a picture on their website, on the reheat instructions page.

Of the pies we have tried, we definitely prefer the chicken based ones. All the beef ones, even the non-ground beef ones, are too salty for our tastes. The chicken ones are delicious. We particularly recommend the plain chicken and the bbq chicken.

The pastries are all yummy, but not really noteworthy. The puff pastries themselves are soft, light, and flaky. The jam fillings they use are very flavorful and delicious. They also use real, hand-whipped cream. They were all yummy, but we would only really buy the Lamington again (which we did, 3 times). They are soft, moist, and very coconuty.

The best savory pies I’ve had sing Scotland! The pie crust itself is nice and flaky but not too doughy, and the filling is A+ on savoriness

Incredible pies, good value, hearty meal and a great taste of home. So grateful to have such a quality pie shop around here. Love getting a dozen pies to take home and keep in the freezer for those times where I want a quality meal but am too lazy to put any effort into it. Can’t recommend highly enough, whether it’s fresh or frozen, both are awesome
