Got the chimichangas. They were very good. Service was quick and we were seated quickly. Good food. Interesting how they use the clover payment system but servers still take your card to run, rather than bringing a handheld kiosk to your table. Food was brought out by a runner using his hand and a heatproof glove, no tray, which was quite impressive.

We came here after a football game and every restaurant was packed, and this place absolutely didn’t disappoint. Even though it was super busy, we got seated within about 20 minutes and the staff was incredibly friendly and efficient. The service was quick, the food came out hot and fresh, and everything tasted amazing. We were starving when we got here, and by the end, everyone was happy and full.Definitely one of the best dining experiences we’ve had in Blacksburg. Highly recommend it

On Wednesday my friend and I stopped in for margaritas and a snack. I had the flavored piña colada margarita and my friend had a skinny margarita. Both drinks were great and very nicely priced. The chorizo queso was the best I’ve had in town. The service was friendly, quick and accurate. Excellent patio seating and the lights are a nice touch as the sun sets. I’ll be back!

This dish isn’t a traditional Mexican dish – it’s actually more Caribbean – but due to the massive demand for it in the South, it’s a staple of menus
here but not really found anywhere else in the US – that’s why I had to make sure to get it while I was here as I hadn’t had it before and I know

This food was absolutely fantastic
The dish came with a TON of grilled chicken pieces on rice, along with a lot of vegetables, and a cheese-like dip
Starting with the chicken, it was really good, and as I mentioned, there was a lot of it
it was also soft and not quite juicy – but definitely not overcooked/dry either. it was really satisfying to bite into
it wasn’t super well seasoned – but there was enough that it was detectable
the rice itself was pretty nice and well-flavored. it wasn’t anything too special but it served as a solid base for the rest of the toppings
the vegetables were pretty fantastic – and served as a great complement to the chicken. I was especially a big fan of the grilled onions and the peppers,
as these were cooked really well. however, the tomatoes weren’t great. charging extra for these was a little strange, but I didn’t mind it
what really brings the dish overall together and takes it to another level is the cheese dip that mixes throughout everything
if this was too cheesy – it would ruin the entire dish by making it practically inedible
if it didn’t have a strong flavor, the entire dish would basically feel plain
however, this was just perfect. It had a hint of cheese, but most surprisingly, it had a bunch of other flavors in there too that created a sauce that coated
every part of the dish and significantly increased the flavor of everything it touched
this resulted in the overall meal having a comforting, deep flavor profile that was really, really good
The margarita was also decent – it was super sugary and you couldn’t taste the alcohol that much, but it was enjoyable to drink
For the price, this was a pretty great deal. When adding the vegetables onto the ACP, it came out to around 15 dollars, and
this was a really nice portion size given that price. The jumbo margarita was also a really large drink for around 9 dollars
Overall, an excellent, well-flavored dish with a great portion size at a good price. 9/10

This is the best restaurant in Blacksburg. The service is fast and friendly, the food is perfect everytime, the music is great, the deals are fantastic. Timo was our server and was amazing! With a lovely atmosphere, El Rods is perfect for dates and group hangouts! I will come here every week the rest of my time in Blacksburg. (I always order the Burria Tacos, perfect portion size along with the complimentary chips)
