Reviews
The brisket was chewy in a good way, smoked just right, and very flavorful. Clearly done properly.
Also appreciated the complimentary brownie sample and the New Year envelope promo. Small gestures, but they add to the experience.
Overall a solid meal and good value for $20
PRO’s:
– The service was excellent from when I first stepped in restaurant to when I left.
– I was also pleased that they hired special needs individuals and that the person training her was patient with her.
– My order was literally ready within 90 seconds so wait time was surprisingly very short
– A clean facility
– They provided me with a complimentary Apple Crisp dessert that was very, very good
OPPORTUNITIES:
– on the flip side, I was disappointed in the food items I selected…
* The ribs looked weird (see picture) and tasted like they were leftovers from the previous evening. For being smoked ribs, they had no ‘snap’ as I am used to with others smoked ribs I have eaten. Also, the meat fell off the bones as if they were reheated by being “steamed”. Since I arrived shortly after they opened in the morning, this is why I believe they were reheated from the previous evening. If the restaurant responds to this review stating they smoked the ribs I was served that same morning, then either they were not being truthful as to what what they told me, or their ribs are normally this poor in preparation, quality, and taste.
* The baked beans were a bit too spicy, and the Cole slaw was bland so I did not finish either if them, but as ai mentioned, the apple crisp is a winner.
I know this is a new restaurant, and they are working out the kinks so if I go back, I would try other items.
The moment I walked through the door, I was greeted by smiling employees who were ready to help. A young lady named Van welcomed me and invited me to her register. I told her it was my first time, and she took the time to explain everything on the menu and even gave me a great recommendation. I went with the Meat Market XXL with three meats, and it was absolutely delicious.
Our food came out quickly, and the employee at the pickup area made sure we knew about all the sauce options.
As we were eating, a gentleman named Matt came by to check on us and make sure we were enjoying our visit. We told him how much we loved both the food and the service. A few minutes later, he came back with a plate of two brownies and two coupons for free sandwiches as a thank-you for trying Mission BBQ. That small gesture meant so much and really showed how much they care about their guests.
We also got to sample the cheesy potatoes, and they were incredible. The entire experience was beyond my expectations. I’ve never been to a restaurant where the staff was so genuinely welcoming and made sure our first visit felt special.
Huge thank you to Van and Matt for their kindness and great service, and a special shout-out to Michelle for helping me get their names so I could recognize them properly. I’ll definitely be coming back to this location many more times.
