Went here years ago and I still remember it. The uni nigiri was generous and super fresh, and the ikura gunkan was packed (the quail egg on top was a nice touch). Sashimi platter had a great variety and the fish quality stood out. Even the simple salad was solid. If you’re in Centreville and want sushi that feels legit, this place left a strong impression.

I’ve eaten here before maybe 5 plus years ago. The food was pretty decent , I had the udon and it was pretty decent but could have used a little bit more flavor. My wife ordered the beef teppanyaki and she enjoyed it. My son ordered the tempura meal , he thought it was decent but it too could have used a little bit more flavor. I usually take pictures and add photos to these reviews but it completely slipped my mind this time.

Open until 2 AM, it’s a solid spot for a late-night snack or meal. The menu is extensive and reasonably priced, offering both Japanese dishes and Korean-style drinking food. Private booth seating is available for a more intimate setting, and the service is friendly and efficient.

OMG I love TOMO!!!!! The service is incredible and the sushi is always always DELICIOUS! I typically get the too too funky roll. Yummm. I take whoever I can here. AND it’s open late!!! Perfect place to go after working all day. By yourself or with others, it’s the best!

It’s very cool place for its decoration. And servers were super friendly and enthusiastic. They are very helpful and fast. We had such great time here and the squid don was amazing, the proportions were so great and big! We will definitely be back!

We had a wonderful dining experience! The kimchi was a standout—my friend ranked it in her top 5 of all time. The staff were incredibly sweet and even brought her an extra serving. We tried a variety of sushi, and every piece was fresh and flavorful. The squid legs were especially impressive, perfectly cooked and tender, not chewy at all. Each meal also came with a small peanut salad and a comforting bowl of miso soup, which was a nice touch. We’ll definitely be coming back!

Was charged $5 for a side of ginger (never seen anyone charge $5 for a side of ginger at any reputable sushi restaurant I’ve been to from Hawaii to DC). And they were charging extra with a large sushi order no less. It was as if they just came up with that price on the spot in order to charge extra.
In the past 4 years, only ever go here when I’m settling due to the good restaurants being too busy. But I wasn’t peeved about all the undesirable things about getting food here until they pulled this stunt. So I’ll mention the stuff that I never bothered complaining about out loud too.
No matter how empty the restaurant is there is a chaotic atmosphere. If you have trouble with noise this is not ideal for you (in addition to all the other things about this place). Parking is a hassle but not the worst thing about it. There’s chicken fried rice if you’re worried about picky eaters.
PROS: they’re pretty decent at packaging orders sturdily enough to get it home securely.
TLDR
If you want something better, try Wegmans. Unless Wegmans isn’t available then you can come here but you should try calling the other restaurants again first.

My favorite sushi place in the area. You can also add avocado to your rolls for a small upcharge but that made our platter top tier! Also the atmosphere is great and offers separate rooms for privacy of big groups. Not too pricey either.

This place was affordable without compromising sushi texture, flavor and craft. I very much enjoyed the green chili avocado roll (this was on the specials menu) The host/waiter could have been more present. And the need to finish repairing the wood block wall, as many pieces fell off and no one seemed to have cared. It just didn’t look good. The sushi presentation was great. We were able to get 4 bowls of miso soup and 9 rolls (including some specialty rolls) for $75, before the tip. And that was regular pricing.
I only wish they offered something special or complimentary for birthdays. This was the first time I had been to a restaurant that did not offer something complimentary for birthdays…even for my 7 year old daughter.
