Winchesters Grill & Saloon is an amazing spot with great food, great vibes, and even better service. The menu has a ton of flavorful options, but the steaks and BBQ dishes really stand out — tender, well-seasoned, and cooked perfectly. The sides are fresh and hearty, and the portions are generous.
The atmosphere has that classic Western charm, comfortable and fun without feeling overdone. The staff is friendly, welcoming, and attentive, making the whole experience even better. If you’re looking for a solid meal and a laid-back place to relax in Ventura, Winchesters is definitely worth the visit!

Valentine’s Day, pub crawl. A chance to have fun time out. The music was great, but as usual Winchester’s was totally understaffed. Waited 14 minutes to get a beer. Waitress was doing her best but was overwhelmed with how busy it was. Another flop of a good night out in Ventura.

Always a fun time! Great food, service and music! The new owners (2025) have really improved the restaurant. The new chef created AMAZING food and there are always delicious food and dessert specials! The live bands are fun and there is now a jukebox.

Terrible food and bad service. The meat is tough as rubber, and it’s impossible to eat it! Chefs don’t know how to cook at all. The cutlery was dirty, especially the fork! Had to be replaced. We ordered one wine and brought another. We ordered a dry red sauvignon wine, and brought a semi-sweet white one. And then it turned out that there was no dry wine at all, which the waiter was obliged to warn about, but did not do so. We tried to order more food at 9:20, but they answered that kitchen already close. Ok, “thank you” for bad evening. No one even apologized for the spoiled meat, dirty cutlery, and mistakes in service. I don’t recommend this place to anyone. You will save your money and nerves.

I’ve enjoyed going to Winchesters for years. I hadn’t gone there for months. I went today and apparently the business was sold to new owners, and I have to say I won’t be going back. The staff was limited but very nice, but the food sucked, which saddened me because they had good food, not anymore. They’ve changed the menu and don’t even offer a drink menu. I ordered French onion soup and basically got broth with a tiny bit of onions and stale bread with hard cheese on it, including some weird hard (what I would say looked like a biscuit and the shape of a flower; it was tasteless. Makes me sad because I really loved that place. Definitely will not be going there again and will not recommend to any of my friends.

I just want to say that Evan is the best bartender I have come across by in a long time. He was personable, friendly, courteous, very attentive. this is the type of customer service that is needed in all the bars. best bartender ever. I will definitely be going back.

I travel to the area for work and this place adds another 30-45mins to my drive back home but it is completely worth it. It’s a local staple situated on a walking street so you dont have to worry about traffic noise any more. I go weekdays after 4 and there is plenty of seating available. Food is always great, staff very friendly and don’t rush you.

I haven’t eaten here for a bit, but today we popped in on a Friday afternoon and had the Cobb salad and my partner got the chicken breast dinner and it was excellent! It feels like the old Winchesters standard is back and ready for business! I highly recommend and hope this landmark stays open for locals and tourists alike!

Haven’t been here years and so glad I came back with my boyfriend. The food was delicious and the service was 5 stars , the best , his name is Evan. He has a great personality and on top of it, without even saying i needed a box
