I got 2 smoothies and they were both great. You can tell they use high quality ingredients. I got one that was fruity with berries and another one that was Like a peanut butter protein smoothie. Definitely recommend this place.

This used to be favourite place and I was ordering multiple times a week during the summer and even doing uber eats from work in the spring (I’m a teacher). Brought a mentee with me yesterday. We order in person. It’s crowded initially and some appear agitated but we place our order and still can grab a seat. About ten minutes in, my smoothie and name are called. We are thinking it’s not long before hers — she ordered right alongside me… however, two other bowls are called out first. No big. Maybe someone else is doing smoothies. We wait.
We see uber/doordash drivers come in for pick up. We are sitting near enough to hear them be told “we can move it up.” We ask about her smoothie after two more orders. The boy (there are 4 people there, all quite young) goes to the line up of receipts. Hers is at the far end of the table. He grabs it and says he will do it next. We wait.
There are several customers asking about their orders now. A hand off between a DoorDash/uber driver and employee goes wrong and the bag is dropped so he begins to remake. The place is getting full and agitated. It’s apparent no one is working in any true order and the couple from right before us (brown, which will be significant later) asks about bowls ordered as people who came in after us get theirs. Another young man addresses receipts from the opposite end, seemingly doing the newest orders first. Another online order pair enters and is told they’ll be “next.”
A manager or someone who appears to know what she’s doing shows up and starts to direct. Things appear to look like they’ll work out. More items come out — at this point, every one of them belonging to groups that came in after us, most of them bowls — and then, a group of four people who came in somewhere 20 minutes after us, starts getting their smoothies called out — two of them which were the identical order to what my mentee had ordered. She asks after the first one and they tell her it’s for a man — the man who had just walked in. At this point, I return to line so we can get the refund. It’s been 28 minutes and they told her she was next twice after extraordinary patience.
We left with no smoothie and a courteous but meaningless “sorry” that indicated they gave no damns and saw no real problems. We made plans not to return. As she pointed out, the employees were all white or white-presenting until the manager entered. The customers being served ahead of her (often also asking about their orders) predominantly white and white-presenting. She was not.
Will be finding another spot this summer (back to South Block). Extremely disappointed especially because I love sharing this place with people and my own orders but can no longer support it. Utterly disrespectful.

I’ve tried just about every smoothie bowl, but I finally made it to Playa Bowls! Decided to try the Goldie Mango Bowl, which is a mango base topped with blueberry flax granola, strawberry, banana, and Nutella. Wow – definitely made the right choice! It was super scrumptious and had that perfect mix of sweetness and crunch.
Only downside? The price tag was a bit much at $13 for such a small bowl. Still, it was a great treat, and I’d totally recommend giving it a try if you’re in the area!

I ordered the “Nica Bowl”… and it was amazing!!! It was fresh and tasty… I never had anything like it… I loved the blend of fruits, granola, and peanut butter. The part near the bottom of the bowl was like a smoothie with a layer of granola on the bottom. It was so good and I am going to recommend this place to everyone!

I love açaí bowls and I have been coming here for a while…but I won’t be anymore. I ordered an OG bowl for me and my daughter when we were half way through the bowl I realized we were eating pieces of plastic. There was definitely a big piece of plastic blended into the açaí. These are the pieces I dug out…and I assure you they were not blueberries pieces. What a shame..Very disappointing because I been coming here for many years and even have a rewards.

The young lady that took our order Natalie was very knowledgeable of the Menu and made our decision making easier. Bowls were fantastic! Will be back again !

I will never return. I drove 20 minutes to get a playa bowl since there was $5 off. First, the worker almost didn’t take off my $5, i had to ask him “ what about the discount” for him to put it. Second, When i received my bowl it was basically like water. It was runny and had no flavor. I order the stupid cupid and there was barely any nutella everything was mixed together. I was very disappointed.
