This place was recommended by a former Old Miss student. The pancakes were excellent. Especially with the peach jelly. The Big Bad Breakfast was OK. The ham is salt cured and was good but it was salty. The hash browns were a bit overdone. The atmosphere was interesting. Good place to eat. Just be aware of the ham and tell them to go easy on the hash browns.

Stopped by for breakfast and coffee this morning. I had scrambled eggs with cheese, crispy bacon, biscuit with sausage gravy, grits, and coffee. ☕️ My total came to $19 and some change. The food was great. These are some of the best grits I’ve had other than my own. The bacon was nice and crispy just like I requested. Three cups of coffee later and I finished my meal. The waitress was very friendly. We discussed the weather and mums. Nice little spot that definitely has that old timey diner feel. Vintage I’d say. I couldn’t afford to eat here often, but it’s great for an occasional splurge.

Very nice meal! Stopped for breakfast 11/30/25. It has a diner feel. We got the chicken and waffles and the cathead biscuit with sausage gravy. Both were amazing! Come check it out!!

Really solid spot. The poached eggs were perfect, and the shrimp and grits were a standout — great sauce, tons of flavor. The menu has a lot of Southern classics done right, but it still feels elevated. Easy place to come with friends, parents, or for a nicer brunch without it feeling stuffy.

Very unique and cozy place for breakfast or lunch. I finally got to try it out this past weekend and loved it! I got a customized omelette that included country ham, cheese, sautéed onions, chopped tomatoes, and bell peppers. It was very delicious and I highly recommend if you’re ever in Oxford.

Visiting Oxford from out of town, we stumbled upon Big Bad Breakfast on North Lamar and what a find!

From the moment we walked in, Bella greeted us warmly with a beautiful smile and eyes that pierced any out towner’s hungry belly , there was a small little wait but what a savvy veteran move by us looking for a great spot to eat at and accepting nothing less than that

Dayna gave service that made us feel right at home with Lauren the manager and her great personally frequent our table.

Even the kitchen manager, Mr. Bryan Sapp, came by to say hello. Talk about Southern hospitality.
The food was every bit as memorable as the service.

I enjoyed a burrito packed with flavor, while my friends devoured the chili cheese omelette and the Big Bad Breakfast platter.

Drinks (Dr Pepper, cold brew, and coffee) were spot on. And to top it all off, Miss Lauren treated us to the biscuit cinnamon balls on the house — a sweet, unforgettable gesture that sealed the deal.

For travelers looking for an authentic, welcoming, and downright delicious breakfast in Oxford, this is the spot. Five stars all the way — worth the trip, and we’ll be back next time we’re in town!

Normally hit this place up when in town, may be my last.

Have always seemed short staffed and more so this time.

Our server didn’t really listen and kept saying this would be better/cheaper if we order something specific.

My friend ordered the tomato gravy and asked for 2 biscuits and got one.

I asked for a side of biscuits and sausage gravy and I got the plate with the grits.

The grits were good tho! 5/5

Breakfast gumbo was interesting. Added salt and it was better, over medium egg had crispy edges. Glad I tried it.

Coffee and Irish coffee were-eh

The condiment containers were incredibly dirty.

If you go on the weekend during peak breakfast time, be prepared to wait. There are some shops nearby that open at 9a to help you pass the time. They text you when your table is ready.
Service is great- they keep the coffee flowing while you wait for the food. They have some adult beverages too. They have everything from pancakes and waffles to biscuits and fresh baked bread/ toast. Had the avocado toast and poached eggs and an omelette. Both were delicious.
I didn’t see any ramps outside so I am not sure how handicapped accessible it is. Recommend calling first.
The seating is either small tables or sit at the counter.

1 hour 40 minute wait then after ordering additional hour 12 minutes to get food .Ordered chicken and waffles. They use thighs instead of breast meat. I told waitress that it wasn’t cooked throughly. It was visible that it was still pink and rubbery and the batter was still wet on inside. The manager came to table being argumentative saying ” it was done we use thigh meat it doesn’t get white” i reply untrue it’s clearly pink undone . She instead of accepting responsibility for under cooked food choose to want to educate me on how cooked chicken should look! Totally unprofessional will never return!
