Poor Service and Product Quality – Dairy Queen Jacksonville, NC (1513 N Marine Blvd)
On 2 September 2025, at approximately 2:45 PM, I visited the Dairy Queen drive-thru located at 1513 N Marine Blvd, Jacksonville, NC. Unfortunately, the experience was extremely disappointing.
First, the ice cream cone I received was completely unacceptable in presentation (see attached photo). Instead of the expected Dairy Queen quality, the cone looked sloppy and unappetizing, resembling something that should never be served to a paying customer.
Second, the service was equally poor. The employee who took my order sounded entirely disinterested and disengaged. At the pickup window, there was no interaction or courtesy extended. Even after I said “thank you” as each item was handed to me, and “have a nice day” before driving off, there was no acknowledgment whatsoever. The overall impression was that serving me was an inconvenience to the staff.
To make matters worse, I was not given a receipt, which makes it difficult to document the visit properly.
I am sharing this feedback because I believe Dairy Queen should uphold higher standards in both product presentation and customer service. What I experienced was far below the level of quality one expects from Dairy Queen.

Horrible, I feel like every time I come through there they can’t make their cupfections right at all this time, a whole brownie right on top of my ice cream and the Oreo pieces weren’t even mixed in with the ice cream and barely even chocolate at all. I wouldn’t care for the attitudes there if the food was actually good only seem to make this right one time and I fell in love, but I’m not coming back anymore after the fifth time of it being made wrong.

First of all I want to say that Dairy Queen is one of my favorite restaraunts. However, the quality of this location is hit and miss. Today I ordered via Door Dash, a 6 piece chicken strip basket with gravy. 5 of the 6 pieces were very small with one being smaller than my thumb. The other 4 pieces were not much bigger. I get that you can’t control the size of what’s being cooked, but come on. If you are serving this to a customer, throw in an extra strip that is decent size. It’s not going to break the bank on the Dairy Queen franchise because you added one more to make up for the sorry excuse you call a “tender”. Also, the gravy was very watered down. It dripped of the toast and chicken. I don’t recall other locations being like this. One last question. Why can’t I order a kids meal online for my kid? The option is there but doesn’t allow me to add it. Don’t tell me it’s to stop adults from getting it for themselves. Hopefully the manager passes this information to the staff and things will change.

Summer
We’ve come here twice before and both times were good, this time however the food was so greasy. It dripped grease all over my car and even when we got inside it left a huge grease puddle on the counter. I’ve never seen something so disgusting, I’m not sure why anyone would think it’s okay to serve food like that, we didn’t even attempt to eat it.

Got a coupon for free small. Got the strawberry cheesecake and it was just vanilla with strawberry cheesecake stuff on top. I figured maybe I just got a bad one because I’ve gotten this before at DQ at other locations and it’s supposed to be throughout the whole thing and not just on top. We then got a bogo coupon. Tried getting the strawberry cheesecake again but this time a large. Same thing happened but this time 3/4 of it was just plain vanilla. After eating 1/4 of just plain vanilla, I felt fed up and decided to take pics and post a review because this was ridiculous. Never going to this DQ again even if we get coupons.

some of the worst customer service i’ve ever experienced, she just kept saying “anything else” in a passive aggressive tone. they didn’t give me my ranch. gave us the wrong coke. gave us the wrong blizzard and my food is just thrown into the bag like they do not care about their jobs at all. will not be coming back to this location. came at 5:30pm on a monday. in what world is this a “choco brownie extreme” blizzard. it’s vanilla ice cream with chocolate shavings in it. we paid $28 for this

This place is one of the worst restaurants and Dairy Queen I have ever been to. They consistently make BAD sundaes and blizzards and the staff always act overwhelmed. The chicken strip basket coat 8-9$ and they consistently give not the correct amount of strips or sauce. When you ask for extra they charge and do not give extra. Awful. Scammers!

I was surprised how on point the crew is here, cleane bathroom, and a clean lobby.
I had the flamethrower sandwich it was on fire. Flawless in presentation and tasted amazing, I see why they call it what its called. Thank god, i had a cookie dough blizzard to cool off my tongue.
Everything was great they even gave my service dog rogue, a special treat as well.
Good for a treat every once in a while the price with the quality makes it worth it.

If I could give negative stars I would. I would strongly advise against dining here! There were flies in the food and when brought to the owners attention I received an insane amount of disrespect and offered a free blizzard in exchange for a 20$ meal full of flies. Never eating at another Dairy Queen again!
