We really loved our visit to Sushi Kaika! The place has such a warm and cozy atmosphere, and the staff are incredibly kind and welcoming – it immediately makes you feel at home. We ordered sushi for takeout, and it was ready in just 5-6 minutes. While we were waiting, they even offered us some candies – such a sweet little gesture
The sushi was fresh, beautifully made, and absolutely delicious! Thank you for the amazing food and the good vibes. We’ll definitely be back!

I absolutely love Sushi Kaika! We come here all the time and thoroughly enjoy it every time. The quality of the food and service is excellent. The atmosphere of this place is great and our regular server Ray goes above and beyond. He is so personable, kind and funny. Beyond that, he treats us the same way you would treat friends and family! Thank you Sushi Kaika for an awesome experience each time we visit.

Second time back after four years. Atmosphere still calm and relaxing. Service very slow and it wasnt even busy, barely any options, and sushi should not be warm! Hoping not to get sick again. Should have just driving an hour to our original place in Vaughan. Not trying to be rude but for $115. Definitely wouldnt not be going back, Definitely was not pleased.

We are in the area and been searching for an Asian restaurant, and we chose Sushi Kaika, and we don’t regret coming here. We enjoyed the food and chose what we wanted. We had 1 piece of everything and re ordered the most that we wanted, we filled our tummy and can’t order dessert. I was surprised with sesame chicken coz it was cooked nice, it was crunchy and soft and not very sweet. Eat all you can and dine in, money worth it as well. Would love to go back and highly recommended.

I’m horribly disappointed. I can’t speak to the service or the atmosphere as I usually order takeout or delivery, but I’ve been ordering fairly consistently for the last year or two. On average, the food was decent. Not great enough to write a good review of, but not bad enough to comment on either, when I get a craving for sushi this is really the only place around that’s not grocery store sushi. All the previous times I’d ordered, it was okay, not great, but okay.
And then I got food today. I ordered a sushi set and a hand roll set. All the other different types of fish in the set were fine but when I tasted the salmon, it tasted off. It was stale, and had the texture of something that had been re-frozen, almost grainy. Note I am not accusing the store of re-freezing their fish, but the texture reminded me of something that had been frozen, thawed, re-frozen and thawed again and tasted FAR past the point of freshness. It was inedible. It tasted like if you asked a 5 year old to remember what salmon is supposed to taste like and they somehow tried to recreate it from memory. Awful. I was terrified of getting sick so I threw out over half my order and did not eat anything that had the salmon in it. Every piece of salmon was the same. Not fresh, somewhat stale tasting with the same strange grainy texture to it. Absolutely disgusting and not at all what I’d expect to pay for the higher end prices this place charges.
Even though this is a one time experience, the fact that this experience happened at all, (this is a place that handles raw fish and would be so careless with it) in my opinion makes it worth writing about. Stay far away.

This place is EXPENSIVE!

Over the last year I’ve dined with a few friends who decided to look for a local buffet style, with very limited options. As a result, we’ve come here a few times and after each visit, I can feel the hole burning in my pocket.

The food is delicious, I’ve had no problems with the food, in fact I very much enjoy it so. But the price doesn’t justify it, especially when even on a Monday Lunch when half the menu isn’t even available, you can’t even get something as simple as noodles for $35 just by yourself.
There are plenty of local places opening up more as well as previous ones now offering similar items for a much affordable price.

If you’re someone who has money to blow and wants a buffet style experience, then by all means this is the place.
However, if you’re like most people who are having a tough time in this current economy, then I suggest to steer clear as two people alone on a Lunch day can cost more than a group dinner at any restaurant in the city.

I dont understand how this gets such a mediocre rating- so many friends and all my family regularly eat here over years and they have always served constantly fresh well prepared food, lovely service, clean and service oriented- the owner is there every day working alongside his kind attentive staff-sushi tends to be an expensive meal, but the all you can eat style prepared when ordered, not in advance, means you get more than your monies worth- consider cost to order a la carte at any sushi restaurant being higher. We dont travel elsewhere anymore, as we know we will never be disappointed here.
Takeout platters are also such a great addition to any special occasion at home. Don’t pass trying for yourself based on the lower score!
Also I read a concern about warm sushi- personally I love when the rice is warm – its of no concern because each item is being made as you order it by a team of sushi chefs- the fish is always PERFECTLY fresh and ingredients are always highest standard and consistent.
I would be sad to lose Sushi Kaika!

I can’t express enough how low the quality of food here is. The sushi rice was definitely made super early in the morning or the day before. I ordered a bento box and the salmon was cold and the sauce on the salmon tasted like something from the grocery store…the California roll was so stale that the rice was hard. I’ve had really good Japanese food and this restaurant is a 1 on a scale of 1-10. For the longest while I just go to zehrs or Sobeys for sushi and let me tell you it’s 100% better than this place as it’s made fresh daily and I see the cute ladies making them. I decide to go to this restaurant again because i thought they may have improved. Maybe they can afford to do this because they have no competition. But di your self a favor and experience good Japanese food and then come back to this and see the difference.

Have ordered a few times in the past couple of months and very happy with the food. To me, sushi restaurants are only as good as their sashimi and we found the qualit to be very high. Many sushi options and also really good dim sum options. It’s hard to get good sushi in this area, very glad to have found this place.

Never have I had such awful service. Ordered through Uber Eats at 7pm and at 9pm called to be rudely spoken too when we asked about how much longer it will take. We still haven’t gotten our food and will never be getting food from them again
