If you want to step back in time a feel the charm of Deli life the Groucho’s is for you. It has the best sandwiches I have ever tasted but not without the “special” sauce. I tried the sandwich without it and it was great then I dipped it in the sauce and it became phenomenal. You have to dip not pour otherwise you will drip all over yourselves. They have their own chips which are serves with the sandwiches and tell the story about the deli on the bag. It is constantly hopping in there but there is plenty of seating and pleasant staff on hand. Might be a bit difficult to maneuver around with mobility issues. Street parking and can be very busy to find a spot so some walking to the deli will be required.

I am tired of asking the staff to stop putting condiments inside my food tray on top of my salad. It’s nasty and I can’t stand it! This should be addressed! Especially when you request to pack your condiments separately. I don’t pay $14 for a salad with plastic wear, crackers and dressing laying on top of my food! This policy needs to be addressed and changed! ASAP

As a college student, I would stumble in here for early lunch to recover from the night before. STP dippers with 45 sauce and cream soda were just what the doctor ordered. Groucho himself was usually behind the counter and kept things moving along. Years later, I still go back as often as possible, either to the original in Five Points, or to Blythewood. I still enjoy a good STP or Apollo, although the sandwiches have changed a little over the years, but they are still great and I remain hooked.

Been coming here since the 80’s. Always great, never been dissappointed! I get a Turkey, Bacon and Cheese salad probably 3-4 times a week! All the staff are so great and accomodating. I will continue my Groucho’s journey as long as I am here!

Groucho’s is one of those restaurants in SC that you can’t but help but try in every single medium sized town in the state. This Columbia Groucho’s Deli however is absolutely one a kind. It features the original dining area and kitchen; with all the same cozy atmosphere you get.
The sandwich (especially the STP) is phenomenal. On par to just be in its own category as you dip that beast into that sauce they provide with it. Always on point at this location. Amazing friendly college staff. Totally a good try for anyone visiting the city.
