I’ve been to Lazy J’s many times. Played music there decades ago. So yesterday I recommend to my friends who I’m riding motorcycles with to head there before going to Mokane. We all ordered beers, payed cash (didn’t tip yet because we didn’t think we were done), and headed outside to sit on the patio, it was a nice day.
So Bob orders a burger inside, but didn’t pay until the burger came out. A young man brought it out, Bob reached in his wallet and gave him a 10.00 bill to pay for the burger. He also asked the young man if he could get ketchup and mayo, which the young man brought.
As we were getting ready to leave, Marv asks Bob if he was leaving, to which Bob said yes. Marv told him he still needed to pay for his burger. Bob explained he did, to which Marv told him, “He’s not the bartender. He’s not who you pay!” We went inside to see if it was by the register, to which Marv said it wasn’t, and again repeated that he was the one who should have been paid, not the cook who brought the burger out.
If that’s the case, Marv, you all need to put the hierarchy of who’s supposed to be trusted with money and who isn’t on the wall because we sure don’t know who’s who in that arena.
Bob gave 10 bux for a 7 dollar burger (which he said was very good BTW) and figured the 3 bux was a tip, that’s why the cook never gave him change.
Now to be totally transparent, Marv did give Bob 3 bux back out of the 10 for the burger. I hope you talked to the cook and got it squared away, because THAT’S who your beef should be with, not the customer that paid someone you don’t trust with money but you trust with customers food.
And so everyone knows, Bob is a 73 year old Vietnam vet who paid for his new Harley WITH a DEBIT card this year. He doesn’t have to steal a 7 dollar burger from a dive bar.
Have a great day Marv.

Found Lazy Jay’s Saloon when I was searching for places to eat on our way back to AR from IA. It was very good food. We both ordered deep fried tenderloin baskets. The tenderloins were very thick & juicy. The price of the food was very reasonable, but thought the 1 beer & 1 rum & coke was a little pricey.

Lazy Jay’s is hands down the best bar and grill I’ve visited in a long time! I recently devoured their mouthwatering cheeseburger and fries and I can confidently say it was one of the best meals I’ve had in a while. The burger was cooked to perfection and oozing with cheesy goodness, while the fries were crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside.
Not only was the food delicious, but the service at Lazy Jay’s was top-notch. The staff members were friendly and attentive, making sure that our dining experience was nothing short of amazing. The atmosphere at Lazy Jay’s is also fantastic, with a laid-back vibe that makes you feel right at home.
If you’re looking for a fantastic bar and grill experience, look no further than Lazy Jay’s. I highly recommend giving them a try – you won’t be disappointed!

Well rounded bar with great food. The kitchen closes at 830pm. With great owners and well rounded people. I love the atmosphere here and the theme. They have internet and it makes a great place to stop and grab a meal. 10-15 bucks you can get a drink and a burger.

Hubby and I went there for the first time tonight, pleasantly surprised with the food and atmosphere. Prices aren’t bad at all. We will definitely be going back, it’s small and quaint per say. We felt as we did when we’re back home at one of our favorite places, before moving up here 20 yrs ago

I am very impressed.. my wife wanted to try Lazy Jay’s and I’m glad I did!! We got the cheeseburger basket and the sampler (fried mushrooms, mozzarella sticks and fried pickles) I had tots and she had crinkle fries. Glad there’s another choice for a hamburger besides McDonald’s.

Doc N Rays was a good little bar. The food was ok, about par for local bars, the drink selection was the same, but the atmosphere in there was great. I went when the Cardinals were playing and everyone was very friendly. The bar was also much cleaner than many local bars.
