We were in town staying nearby at Harman’s Cabins. We came the week after Christmas. Harman’s recommended this place for dinner. I ordered the whiskey glazed grilled chicken dinner. It was very good. The service was nice. They do get busy since there is not many places to go out to eat in that area. The location can be confusing as they share the building with the local American legion. They have a big sign outside the restaurant. Very nice inside. Casual dress is fine. Many locals eat there. We will visit again.

I ordered a glass of Cabernet, a small Caesar salad and the whiskey glaze burger. The wine was great, I believe it was Franciscan. It wasn’t foul at all. The Caesar salad was OK. Now onto the grand finale, the burger looked great, but I don’t know what the problem was with the meat. It had the consistency of Styrofoam, The whiskey glaze sauce helped me choke it down. It was definitely overcooked, even though It said medium. Literally the worst tasting burger I have ever had in my life. I would eat a big Mac over this any day. It was horrible. I didn’t have the time to have them take it back because I was on my way to go photograph the Milky Way.

I enjoyed eating here! It was close to the the area where we were staying. The staff and servers were very helpful and cheerful. The young man who was the front door host was very personable and made us feel very welcome! The atmosphere is that of a country feel with some memorabilia and wall hangings of uplifting words and sayings. The food was very good, yet did not hit me with the robust flavors that I usually leave for a “5” rating. For appetizer we had the hot clam dip with slices of bread, I enjoyed that the most. It was a good experience and I would return if I were in the area. We had been cooking meals for ourselves on the trip, so I told my family of 4 that they could get what they wanted. We all chose items on the menu that were dinners, so each plate ran between $21 – $26. Appetizer was $15, and drinks were $3 each (only teas). The total price of the meal before the tip was $111.

The pulled pork was good. Portions are large. The boneless wings seemed burnt. My husband loved his mushroom Swiss burger. It’s dark inside. Would return if in the area again.

This was the most upscale restaurant that my family ate at while in the area, and we definitely got bang for our buck! We came by on a weekday afternoon, so the place was very empty. The restaurant was quite dark, but comfortable. It was a little difficult to read the menus with the lighting, but good thing we have phone flashlights.
The food was wonderful! I ordered the shrimp scampi, which comes with a side salad and garlic bread (which I got replaced with apple sauce). The food came out very quickly, and was delicious. Would definitely come back if I’m ever back in the area!

I had the mushroom Swiss burger and it is made with local beef. I have to say it was the best burger I have ever had while eating out. Thick burger, full of flavor, cooked perfectly. And the homemade potato chips were the icing on the cake.

If you’re visiting the Petersburg/Cabins, West Virginia area, AVOID this place.
Kitchen staff were incompetent (got our initial order wrong) and we could hear them laughing about it. Server apologized for their behavior.
Good was of poor quality. Don’t waste your money here. There are much better places to eat. Locals indicated this establishment’s service and food have been lacking.

Exactly what you look for in a good, local option. Solid food, huge portions sizes, reasonable prices, quick service. Surprisingly large menu. Ambiance good, but felt dated and a bit worn down.

Has to be one of the best places to eat in Petersburg. The place did seem a little small so not sure how it gets when their busy but we had no wait on a weekday evening. The staff was friendly. The food was quite good as well too. Have to reccomend the burgers and wings as that is what we got and they were good.
