The food looked good once it come out but everything tasted disgusting with no flavor. The soup tasted like water and the torta Cubana I had was horrible. The guy was really nice but the food was horrible, unfortunately I won’t ever come back here. It’s sad because years ago the food was amazing before the owner died and the sisters sold the restaurant. Had so much potential but now the food quality has gone down the drain.

The food not only looked authentic, it tasted it too. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, and the staff couldn’t have been more welcoming. They gave us so much attention and made the entire experience feel personal and memorable. It’s rare to find a place that combines great food with such genuine hospitality. I’ll definitely be coming back!

I can’t believe I lived next to this place and not tried it out, definitely need to try more new places in the area and Houston.
So here goes nothing. The ambiance is pretty much homeish food and location feels you’re in a local spot in Mexico. Food is really good but not mind blowing. If you’re looking for some really home style cooking this is the place to go. Would I take somebody for a special occasion like an anniversary or Bday probably not, will I go every weekend to get some home cooking and avoid my kitchen…for sure! It’s a casual spot to go

Mexico Deli offers friendly service and a welcoming atmosphere. While the staff was attentive, the food fell short of expectations. We ordered French fries that never arrived, despite reminders to our waiter. The overall taste and quality of the food were mediocre. If you visit, manage your expectations and communicate your preferences clearly.

Just moved into the area and was on the look out for a taco spot, but the torta selection caught my eye. I got a pambazo with chorizo and potato and it was packed with flavor. Salsa was on point. The staff were friendly and the food was great. Simple and great.

Wow! I haven’t been here in over 10 years, and they’re STILL as good as I remember. They have a huge variety of tortas, but they still do any combination you want! I love the pambazo, and they allowed me switch from potatoes to beef fajita. It was delicious! My kids shared the Hawaiian torta, and they loved it! The white melted cheese looked so good at every bite. Mine came with a bowl of black beans, and the others with Mexican soup! They also have Aguas Frescas, we tried agua de tamarindo and agua de piña. You can drink as much as you want! The atmosphere was family oriented, and chill. They have string lights and tables outside, perfect for those couple of months when weather is perfect in Houston. Staff was very welcoming, attentive and friendly. I would give a hundred stars if I could! Can’t wait to come back again with my family and eat deliciously.

A Decade Later: Still the Taste of Home
Review:
Returning to this restaurant after nearly a decade felt like revisiting an old friend. Located in the heart of Houston, it was my go-to spot back in the day, and today’s experience reminded me why.
From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with warmth and hospitality that instantly made me feel at home. The guy taking my order was as cool as a cucumber, effortlessly guiding me through the menu with a smile.
But let’s talk about the real star here: the food. Oh, how I’ve missed the mouthwatering flavors that this place is known for! Each dish was a masterpiece, prepared with meticulous attention to detail by the talented cook in the kitchen. Every bite was like a symphony of tastes, bringing back memories of why this restaurant held a special place in my heart.
Today’s visit was a testament to the consistency and quality that this establishment prides itself on. Despite the years that have passed, the food tasted just as delicious as I remembered, if not better. And paired with the top-notch customer service, it made for an unforgettable dining experience.
If you’re in Houston and craving a taste of home cooked with love and served with a smile, look no further than this hidden gem. Trust me, it’s worth every bite.

This place gives you authentic sitting at Mexico vibes, but that doesn’t always sit well Americans. I thought the food was just okay. Nothing mind-blowing but not bad either. I ordered Beef Fajita Torta and my wife order r her usual shrimp tacos.
Beef was dry, needed some more seasoning. It had pico de gallo for a sauce in the inside. Bread was good. No complains on tacos -wife enjoyed them.
