Firefighters keep things simple and stick to what works. Same with the menu developed by Roland Otto Cook, ROC. Nothing fancy and you can pronounce all the ingredients. We believe in using the freshest ingredients of the highest quality. That’s what you’ll taste with something as simple as a Bacon Cheeseburger or Salmon Salad. I really wanted to like this place, especially considering it’s close to our staycation spot. I feel like it is probably better on normal days, but I can assume the crew was tired from the holidays. The pretzel was very fresh and delicious, but the cheese tasted like it was burned in the pot and poured out to preserve the rest. The soup was extremely salty, to the point where we left with stomach aches. And the drinks could have used a little more love. The fact that I got a rotten bruised lime on the rim of my drink showed that there was little care. Maybe we’ll try another day, maybe not. And if the owner wants to leave a snarky response, try instead to redirect that energy to trying to make your business better.

Pretzel was great, 2 sandwiches with fries were also delicious. In less than 30 min we ordered, got our food, and cleaned out plates. Sports on the TVs and some unique memorabilia on the walls makes this a must stop if you are passing through town.

Caprese salad wasn’t bad with nice chunks of tomatoes (but could have cored out the rock hard middle). Ordered the Asian wings…best part was the jalapeno, over cooked and was like they dumped hoisin sauce on them and called it Asian. Had the burger medium rare and came out a little under cooked and salty, very salty.
Kids did enjoy their burger and chicken strips hence the 3 stars.
Service was good and I’d say just come here for a dive bar experience with booze and drunken eats.

Pretty good place for a good meal. Service was good and the atmosphere was quite nice. The prices are very reasonable. We shared the large chili as an appetizer and it was definitely the highlight of the meal. Wish it had been a bit spicier though but still really good.
For our mains we had the Captain Adan’s chicken sandwich and the All American burger. The burger was good but could have used more sauce. The chicken sandwich was actually pretty good and the chicken was quite juicy. Not usually a big fan of skinny fries but I actually really liked these. They were crispy and perfectly seasoned.

I’ve enjoyed ROC’s for many years. I decided today we stopped by for a late lunch. The chili was amazing and so is the hamburger my wife got. My wife also got a lavender martini which she thought was spectacular. The staff was very friendly and very pleasant.

We found this cafe last year when we boosted Palm Desert. Good service and an excellent chef. We ordered the Flatiron steak dinner with root veggies, a Caesar salad and their special that day, Philly Cheese Steak sandwich with onions, cheese and mushrooms, and a side of onion rings. We were able to watch the Eagles/Chargers football game and enjoy a delicious meal. The Flatiron steak was cooked perfectly, loved the au jus that was served with it. The Philly sandwich was well seasoned and the grilled mushrooms instead of bell peppers was nice!! Will definitely return to have more meals at this place!!

Wow! We were so happy it was so close to our hotel that we could walk. We loved the openess of the establishment. The place had the garage door openings with a high ceilings.The weather was amazing for December. Our server was attentive and so friendly. The chef’s drinks were so good & the food… we’ll come here again when we are in town.

Between the four of us, we ordered the El Patron burger, the Assistant Chief burger, and two orders of their prime rib special. Everything was very, very good, and the prices were fair. I especially enjoyed my El Patron, and the fries were great. The restaurant is very loud, and they could do a better job with masking and social distancing, and it may be time for some new furniture and flooring. Our server Brad was great. Highly recommend for good food in a casual setting.

Another appreciated restaurant open hours long enough for us to go out. Both are drinks were fresh squeezed juices. No bottled mixers. Really made a great flavor. Chili rocked and was fresh. Salad was crispy and flavorful. We would go back and explore some more items on the menu.
