The Old Castaways could not have been more friendly or welcoming. Ended up with some very enjoyable conversations, as well as somebody giving us the remainder of their pics on the jukebox. Basic bar food and a good vibe overall.

Great local bar. Great atmosphere. Amazing service. Good food. Generally a great place to have a drink, and maybe a bite to eat. Indoor, and outdoor area. Covid safe, masks enforced when not sitting at a table or the bar. Lots of parking.

I am banned for life, by the woman who said “you were singing to the music, and talking to people!!” And she went on to call me a “drunk person”, and to cruelly announce that it was “a bar” ; not a place for “talking to people” abput my misding chindten, or “singing” along with the jukebox, and that she “don’t care!” about missing children.
Before that I had a few pleasant conversations about the food there,vand saw some very friendly and warm faces:
I have gone there since my childhood.
There is a picture that is supposedlye: I was there, and did look similar, and I have discovered that I have an identical twin, who grew up in Wyoming; Niko said there is a third who also lived in Newburgh, but I have not yet seen him.
This pub,band it’s patrons are cool; there were a handful of very mean people there that night
Oh well; I can add it to the many other groceries, libraries, pubs, restaurants, parks, bus stations, and two whole entire cities that I am recently and permanently banned for life from, including Brandywine PA; it is called mobbing, hazing, gangstalking, shunning, discrediting, blackballing, and and black-listing.
This is a hometown favorite pub;

Yes, I did say a bad word as I was threatened cruelly and physically by her boyfriend to “leave!”
Recommended; twenty stars; a “good” hometown place with nice steamers for a buck !

Much better since lance took over. Had a lot fun tonight. Judy was more than willing to adjust and learn my drink (a bit pricey for a car bomb but, i had so much fun it was worth it). The atmosphere is wonderful and they finally have everything in stock. I can’t stress this enough, if you remember when it was good here its safe to come back!!!

The place got a star because it has an outdoor seating but the place was filthy outside and vomit on the deck. The bar tender that’s also the cook and some patrons said that the owner is outside sleeping her hung over away in her car.
That’s why I had to wait 15 min for a beer on a beautiful Saturday afternoon. ♀️

With the strength and the hard working people to keep this place alive, enabling friends to have a place to come together, laugh, joke, play pool, and Yes even politics with the comfort of a couple of cold beers. Yes, the NEW owners took a chance, and in my opinion they will succeed where many have failed. It defiantly has the feel, where whomever comes through those doors are friends to everyone.
