The first time I went through the drive through I received excellent service and I ordered their Deluxe nachos with shredded chicken and it was delicious. When I went back I ordered the same thing, The server was rude and the she shoved some kind of machine in my face and when I asked her how to operate it she told me it would work after I gave her a tip. Then when I home my food wasn’t what I had ordered but something entirely different that I didn’t even recognize. I returned to ask them what it was and tell them and show them it wasn’t what I ordered and to complain and they offered to replace it with my original order (by the way it was the same rude lady) and started talking to each other in Spanish and when I got home they had dumped a lot of hot sauce on my meal and it was inedible. I wouldn’t be going back, which is sad because the first time my food was delicious and the Young girl was very polite.

So I wanted to try something different as I am on a quest to find decent old school taco shop style food what I remember in southern California location.. first off location is decent the shop being located next to and attached to a gas station was not a issue, you find some of the best food locations are in a non desirable location. I took the drive thru lady was ok nice who took my order didn’t talk to much she was small tall right to the point..I order a full order of carne Asad fries.. which came out total to 14.48 I picked up my order and left.. I did. Ot like if paying by card first thing displayed on the handheld screen if you want to tip or not (no thank you).. but hey they all are doing it. As you can see you photo fries are small for what you pay. Not your usual full order of asada fries.. comes with meat, cheese, sour cream and guacamole.. the guacamole is more of a green sauce not guacamole. The asada was basic meat not really season nor off a grill seemed to be more skillet cooked.. to sum it up only reason I gave two stars was for the food being hot which took them maybe 3-5mins tops to bring to me so I appreciate them.l making it fresh to microwave order… if your out late maybe need to sober up and fight that buzz a quick drunk type food I guess this is your place. But if not leave alone and move on to the next.

Their food is alright but their prices are crazy. Almost $20 fpr a super burrito. Over $19 for nachos. Are family will not be going back. We can eat at a nice sit down restaurant for their prices. Skip this place and go to nice Mexican restaurant

Got carnitas tacos and the meat is not of a good quality. I had to pick out all the gobs of fat from the tacos. Not cooked properly. There is an overall very unappetizing smell coming from the bag of food. I ended up discarding it. I don’t know what the issue is there. I tried it a couple of times to see if it would improve. Won’t be going back. Not up to par for the price they charge.

Taco Express in Elk Grove is a MUST-TRY! I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve been here, and it’s consistently fantastic. This place is my go-to for a quick, clean, and delicious meal. The food is always incredibly fresh, cooked to order, and absolutely amazing – all at very reasonable prices. My favorite is the combo meal are the two Birria Tacos with beans and rice!
But what truly sets Taco Express apart is the exceptional staff. They are all so friendly, with kind smiling faces. The chefs even remember me, and always make a point to say a quick hello. I always feel like a VIP here; the staff treats everyone so warmly. My goal is to try everything on the menu! For those in a hurry, they also have a drive-thru with the full menu available. Great job, Taco Express team! Keep up the amazing work!

Good people over there. Food is good as well. The salsa bar is nice as well. During off hours it is not busy at all but come lunch hours it gets busier.

Not bad, I gave it 4 felt 3 was lower than all other options like service was very good, food is good. Chips suck they should probably not offer them or think of having hot n fresher ones that aren’t old n hard. Salsas are good. I tried all 3, liked fire, the most. Cucumbers are yummy.

There are many good things about this place. Unfortunately they are inconsistent. Most of the time they are good. Even with the the inconsistencies, I would continue to patronize this place.

So Taco Express #7 is in a gas station. Guess it doesn’t matter if it’s to go order. Not like other Taco Express stores are fancy or anything but still it’s a gas station. Also it was SLOW. Longest I’ve ever waited for an express burrito at any Taco Express. This was not around lunch or dinner time. It was 2:30PM roughly.
I don’t think the food was as good as the other locations either. I’ve ate dozens of Express Burritos and this seemed dry with too little meat and too many potatoes. Maybe it’s my imagination though.
Staff was SUPER friendly but don’t see myself coming back to this exact location. I will hit one of the other Taco Express locations.

Promising with the crisp smell of Fabuloso and salsa bar with self serve chips.
Friendly staff
Easy order. Chicken quesadilla to-go. Greasy, but okay. Chicken, tortilla, cheese.
Tax and tip almost $20. Better than the typical $50 Grubhub delivery order.
I was curious why Fabuloso was still lingering in the hotel room. Red salsa-great! Salsa verde-great and spicy! Free chips-Fabuloso flavored. Doritos Fabulosos.
