Lost River General Store is a great little place to have in our community. They support local artists and products. The selection of items changes almost every time you go in so the shopping experience is never the same twice. They have a large selection of wines and ciders and other jarred/canned food goods like jams, jellies, and sauces. There is also a large selection of pop and other drinks for the road.

Quaint cool store. Gotta do ice cream, Lavender is a local fave.Coffee was also good. Jams, sauces, kitchen wares and local art and crafts stuff. Upstairs is some interesting antique stuff. The staff was great. Popular spot for cyclists rolling through.

I,m gonna give this place a five even though it has been under new management for only three weeks. Patrick made me a cheese and tomato Paninni that was fantastic, along with the potato salad and chips! I got a cup of coffee that was Hot and not Luke warm most places, it was very good. The service was exceptional and once they get more items on the menu it will be one of those Kick Stand Up trips to see the country side and get a good meal.

On the way back from a Vermont fall colors trip, just had to go a little out of the way to see, and experience, some of the West Virginia area that the YouTube couple, Wild Wonderful Off Grid, call almost heaven. Yup, pretty much.
So we stopped at the Lost River General Store; I had the pulled pork sandwich and my wife had a chicken panini. OMG, the best!
Have to admit though, it was all I could do not to by a square, amber vase they had in the window. I have no use for it but, it was gorgeous and reasonably priced.
Check out The Lost River Inn and General Store, even if it’s out of your way. Almost heaven.
PS: best colors? West Virginia
