I stopped in for a late lunch on a Thursday. The inside of the restaurant was very nice. The young lady at the register, I think Alexis, was great and had my order in immediately. There was a second waitress as well that was fantastic. The food was excellent, the atmosphere was excellent. I’ll definitely be making the trip from Columbia to Fulton more often.

Visited this past Sunday 05/21/23. Two friends had the Sunday German Style Buffet, which they both enjoyed. They both said the German potato salad was very good. Another friend had the ribs. He said they had good flavor, but were a bit tough. I had the smoked porksteak which looked really good, but was quite dry and stringy. The only BBQ sauce they have was very sweet. Odd that they don’t offer more choices. I will say the broccoli salad I had as my side was very good! Noy many places offer that. All the meals we ordered came with a drink (soda/tea) and salad bar, which was fresh and also had several fruit options. The service was a bit lacking, although there weren’t many tables when we were there at 2:00pm on a Sunday. Had to ask several times for drink refills as they were walking by but not checking on us.

Smoked pulled pork was amazing, and baked beans. Ribs were really good also. Great food and great service. Also, we had our dog with us and we were able to bring her and eat outside and the staff took good care of her.

A perfect meal to end our trip!

Worth a try if you are in the area.

Brisket, pulled pork and ribs were all cooked well. However, we went during a slow hour and I think they were just reheated. Didn’t really taste any smoke on the food and there wasn’t hint of a smoker. Sides were good enough, but the okra didn’t seem scratch made.

Decor was nice, didn’t look fully furnished or stocked yet though. Place has promise.

Under new ownership as of 6-3-23. Mike is a good guy and an internationally rank brat maker! Gonna try his ribs next time to see if they are any better. Very friendly staff! Huge space to eat. Playing classic country and throwing down that hometown feel. I had their Sticky Burger, well actually the Double Down. A twist on the classic burger. They use pork patties instead of ground beef. Throw in some pulled pork and their sauce and you have a tasty mess! It was a fun spin on an old hat. Their sauce has a sweet dip to it. Their bacon creamy potato salad tastes like summer. My wife had their ribs and she said they were good. I spoil her and smoke my own at home, so her standards for ribs are high. I will go again. Oh and they have a meat market inside as well. Very fun!

I love this place, especially the breakfast buffet with the sausages, bacon, and it is all prized meat that has won awards. Do you realize, when you shop at the Barnyard you can tell your family and guests that the food your serving them is an award winner? Best ham, award winning summer sausage, I buy all my Christmas food at the smokehouse to serve to my friends and family. This is the best meat in Missouri. I am glad it is only 20 minutes away because I would drive an hour to shop at the Barnyard. My friends in Las Vegas and Los Angeles want to visit Missouri. The first place I will take them to shop and buy breakfast is Barnyard Smokehouse. The restaurant and store are a must see for visitors.

The meal I had here which was a wonderful pork tenderloin sandwich and onion rings was absolutely spectacular. Then I had to try their peanut butter cup pie which was also delicious. Then after having such a good meal I had to look around their meat shop and had to take some home with me, which I have also enjoyed a lot. The other thing I loved and also kind of laughed about was when i was looking for a place to stop and eat this restaurant advertises that they use locally sourced central Missouri meat and sausages. Their restaurant is literally 20 feet away from what I’m guessing is a slaughterhouse named central Missouri meat and sausage. So trust me you will be getting fresh meat if you get it from here. If you are travelling through the area I couldn’t reccomend this place more.

Great meats and deli! Open dining room with a bar. Extensive menu, including a k9 menu for your best friend. Old fashioned candy, some groceries for camping. The freshest meats. Try a sample before you buy.

The food has never been great but decided to give it another try due to it being one of the few restaurants open on a Sunday. Almost made my family turn around at the door when we saw what I feel an ignorant sign posted. Went ahead and ate there. The grilled chicken was dried out and flavorless, mashed potatoes/gravy extremely salty and chips were stale. Our waitress was fine. We don’t plan on ever going back.

The Barnyard Smokehouse restaurant is a mixture of good, bad and strange. The good was my eggs benedict was delicious. The bad was the initial service that I received. I had to ask two waitresses who were filling glasses with ice at the soda fountain, if I could have a menu. One went to get me a menu and without saying we will be right with you, simply went back to filling glasses with ice. A more ambitious young man was apologetic and energetic. The strange is I found the shaved ham to be meager, maybe two ounces, for this to be a restaurant attached to a butcher processing operation. Granted the price for two eggs benedict was only $5.99. However it was strange that you got nothing at all as a side. If you want hash browns, you have to pay for it. If you want a side of gravy, you can’t have it LOL. You have to buy an order of biscuits and gravy. On and on, the pricing structure seemed strange at best. With this, all turned out well with a mimosa that cost $3.99. After drinking this, I really didn’t care about all the other stuff. LOL
