The service was outstanding, all of the team members were very friendly and knowledgeable, hit all the marks during service. The restaurant itself was gorgeous. We went for a belated Valentine’s Day and had a wonderful time.
Having dined at Jiro in Tokyo, I can confidently say this spot rivals that world-class experience — with a warmer touch and a staff that speaks perfect English! From the moment we arrived, the valet parking made everything easy (though I recommend taking an Uber if you’re doing the wine pairing… you’ll definitely want to savor every sip).
We went for the Matsu omakase, and wow — every course was a work of art. The freshly grated wasabi, the thoughtful pacing, and watching each dish come to life at the sushi bar turned dinner into a full sensory experience.
Chef Shiga was an incredible host — friendly, engaging, and clearly passionate about his craft. And to top it all off, we had the pleasure of meeting Owner-Chef Shigeyuki Furukawa at the end of our meal — such a gracious and humble culinary genius!
My wife and I left absolutely blown away and already planning our next visit. Perfect for a date night, a special celebration, or simply treating yourself to something unforgettable. This place has officially earned a spot on our favorites list! ✨
However, while most of the nigiri was excellent, a few pieces did fall short in terms of freshness. There was a slightly fishy note that took away from the otherwise refined experience. It didn’t ruin the evening, but it was noticeable enough to mention.
That said, the service was attentive, and the pacing of the meal was well-balanced. I’d still recommend the omakase for a special night out.
Sitting at the sushi counter is an experience in itself. Watching the chefs work is like watching artists at their canvas, every cut and every detail deliberate. They don’t just serve sushi—they take the time to explain where the fish comes from, how it was prepared, and what makes each piece unique. It transforms the meal into a connection, not just a dining experience.
I’ve been fortunate to visit several times over the last 4–5 years, and every time feels just as exciting as the first. It never gets old. The quality, the artistry, the warmth—it’s worth every penny and then some. This isn’t just a place to eat; it’s a place to appreciate food at its highest level, and to walk away feeling lucky you got to experience it.
We had a table reservation for four and did the sake drink paring. Every dish was unique. The 100% edible tiny crab is a dish I’ll remember forever! The trout sushi and fatty blue fin tuna sushi stood out to me as very flavorful fish.
The sake pairing was an experience. I learned I’m not a huge fan of Sake, but glad I tried it out.
The servers provided us background on every drink and dish we had.
There were a few things we noticed during the meal. Several of the nigiri pieces had a noticeably fishy taste, which was unexpected based on our past experiences, especially in Japan where the fish tends to be naturally sweet and clean in flavor. The tiny squid in the appetizer course also had a strong flavor that made it less enjoyable.
That said, there were some standout items we truly enjoyed—the toro (though slightly fishy), anago, and A5 wagyu were especially memorable for their texture and taste.
One small detail we also noticed: the final sake in the pairing was missed with our last course. While not a major issue, it was a noticeable oversight given the otherwise attentive service.
Overall, we’re grateful for the experience and hospitality and wanted to share our impressions as honest, constructive feedback.
