⭐⭐☆☆☆ Extremely Disappointing – Not Worth the Hype

I really wanted to like this place, but the experience was frustrating from beginning to end. We waited about an hour for our food, and when it finally came out, the appetizers and main dishes were brought at the same time, completely defeating the purpose of ordering starters.

The salad was terrible— basically just lettuce, barely any dressing. The pizza was just okay, nothing special. Definitely not worth the long wait. The pasta was bland and completely flavorless, like they forgot to season it at all.

Worst of all, the service was awful. After dropping off the food, our server vanished. No refills, no check-ins—we didn’t see them again until it was time to pay the bill.

Between the poor service, long wait times, and disappointing food, this was a huge letdown. Definitely won’t be coming back.

Loved our Philly Cheese pizza. The crust was to perfection as well as the whole pizza. Awesome servers great choice of beer, IPA was perfect pairing for our pizza .
Pickaxe is on our list for when we are in Idaho Springs. A great little mountain town.

Delicious burgers and smooth beer. Very dog friendly with plenty of seating out front. They even brought some pepperoni out for my dog. Would recommend. My dog would too.

I made pizza for several years in New York, so I don’t say this lightly—this pizza was delicious. The crust, sauce, and overall balance were spot on and not a greasy mess.. On top of that, the service was good and the environment was friendly and welcoming. It’s a great spot with quality pizza and good people. I’ll definitely be back.

Went thrifting around town and stopped by for a bev was greeted with welcoming vibes found out slices of pie were $2 they offered to make a fresh cheese for me! Went back after some more shopping for another Bev which took a little longer but I was i just enjoying the small town vibes. The pizza was delicious and wings were only .75cents! Definitely will be back it was the high light of my day!

First and foremost, Travis, the bartender was awesome! His service and attentiveness is unmatched. If you want to feel welcomed at an unpretentious reasonably priced eatery this is your spot. I came out on my anniversary to eat and watch the broncos game. I walked the entire street to find the best spot to watch AND HEAR the game. This was the only place that had the sound on. When we sat down we were treated like local friends. The food was great. The atmosphere was great and I’d recommend this place to anyone eating in Idahoe springs.

Visited this little town in my travels and decided to give this little place a whirl. Parking is conglomerated for the whole town to a large degree in parking areas that back up the interstate. This is a wait to be seated kind of place with table service, and you pay your server when done. Service was friendly and fast work s rustic atmosphere. The pizza, on the other hand, was well below average. Nothing stood out except the lack of toppings. Nothing tasted extraordinary and more like a frozen pizza. The salad was mediocre, and the tomatoes were nearly green, horrible. I don’t recommend this place, and if you try it, I hope your experience turns out better than mine, 3/4 of a thumbs up.

Love the atmosphere, that’s about it. Every 6 months or so we give this place another shot, always leave unsatisfied. This time it was the wings, which were fatty and gelatinous. I couldn’t finish my order. Took the rest home and broiled them until the skin got crispy, perfect.

The food was fine but that’s pretty much the extent of it.

Pizza—not sure what kind of style they wanted to go for with it but if it was New York it was a decent attempt for Colorado. It was a little small for $18 but I guess inflation is running its course. Crust was flaky and pretty thin for my personal tastes. Cheese was slightly burnt, and the sauce was fine but nothing special.

Wings—I appreciated the whole wing concept. The inside was pretty tender and moist. The skin was a little dry and hard to take apart the wing—also on first look it was lacking a good coating on sauce.

Burger—we ordered the barbecue cheddar burger medium, and it was a safe bet. The fries were on the worse side of okay—somehow burnt but I still kind of soggy, a little greasy. Pretty standard in terms of burger and fries but nothing to write home about.

Overall pretty standard fare and a little on the expensive side (kind of expected as you get deeper into the mountains. Service was good and friendly—not wowing.
