Came for the affordability, got what we paid for? Sort of. I removed a star while reviewing when my wife’s steak had to be returned (was raw and rubbery). The table behind me also returned a steak… I can only imagine the Manager was ripping the cook! I had two (hey at $4-$5 a pop, whaddayagonnado?) of the worst long Island iced teas I’ve ever had. The place was pretty dead and seemed dysfunctional despite the lack of a crowd to deal with. Wife’s steak was replaced by chicken that was really pretty good and my ‘grilled cheese cheeseburger’ was also pretty good. But getting to that point… Getting to that point… Ouch!
Our host and our waitress were excellent and the Manager was nice, but… I suspect the place will be out of business within a year… Sad… Applebee’s has always been there in a pinch but something has to give and so apparently something gave…

Our server was horrible. She dint even greet us for 10-15 mins after being seated (which there was no one out front for atleast 5 mins). There were no more than 10-12 tables seated so it was not busy. The food took over an hour and a half with no check ins from the server. We asked for water 3 times and we can see where the water station is. If your guests have been waiting for a long time, the least you can do is grab us our waters. She disappeared for another 5-10 mins. Not serving anyone else in that time, just gone. The experience was horrible. The food was painfully mid and it was irritating that the majority of the guests had their food when we walked in and within the almost 2 hour stay, the bar tender and 4 servers were able to seat themselves and eat before us. I’m working in food, you can have a break, I get it. But there were still atleast 2-3 servers working and you cant take care of your guests first? The poor gentleman next to us had a basically raw burger and he and his wife and had nothing good to say either. Plus, your employees were speaking about how happy they were it was slow because if it weren’t they’d be caught not doing much. 6-8p, Sunday 3/1/26. Do something with these employees, simply the worst ive ever encountered in years. Do better Applebee’s, or do what you do best. Ignore feedback. Also. You should be sued for not featuring your drink prices on your menu. Absolutely unashamedly predatory.

I love coming to Applebees, I tend to always just get my food to go. Yet, the pick-up process is so annoying. The app tells you to go to the host stand, and they tell you to go to the bar. Where you are then standing there waiting for any employee to give you any type of attention. I’ve stood there for well 10 minutes. I shouldn’t have to speak up to get my to-go food. Especially when the host isn’t doing anything sometimes. Why can’t they just grab it real quick? I understand when it’s busy and there’s a line, but I always end up coming around when it’s slow. Been stared at by many waitresses and yet no one asks me anything. On a positive, I’ve never had any issues with my order missing anything.

Honestly I’m so frustrated with our entire experience. My husband and I came in on sunday night, March 1st at 6:30 for a quick dinner and a drink. We had a $50 gift card and thought it would be nice to go out and get something instead of cooking that evening. Well that was a horrible mistake. What was suppose to be a quick dinner, because there were only 11 tables (yes we counted) and most already had their food. Our first red flag, was the fact we waited a few minutes to even get seated in the empty restaurant. Finally a girl came over and took us to our table. There we waited another 10-15 minutes to even get someone to come out and get a drink order from us. Once we did actually get our drinks, she messed up and didn’t bring us our waters we asked for. But by that point, she disappeared. I figured, I’ll just ask when I see her again. After she took our order we didn’t see her for AN HOUR. We ordered a pretzel appetizer and figured it’d only be about 20 mins to get it. No. It came out almost exactly an hour later at 7:30. I asked our waitress (I forget her name, we were seated at a high top across from the bar and near the entrance.) when we were going to get our food. She said “oh should be out very soon”, I then asked her for the waters again. She said she’d get right on it. It took her 5 minutes to get us water. At this point half of those 11 tables had left. No new customers had come in. She gave us our waters at 7:35. Our food FINALLY came out an hour and 45 mins after we were seated and 7:45. Our food was mediocre at best. I asked for a prime rib sandwich w/ fries and an extra side of broccoli. Nope. She replaced the fries with broccoli. But I figured we’d be there another hour if I asked her to fix it. But it doesn’t matter. Our waitress NEVER came back to our table after that. Believe me, I’ve worked in restaurants. I know how they go. I gave them all the benefit of the doubt and figured, “maybe they are short handed” “maybe she’s new” “blah blah blah” I am very considerate to restaurant workers. But my husband over heard a literal group of them that sat at a high top just hanging out and eating (the bartender got her food before us), talk about “how they were happy it was a slow evening and that if it was busy someone would’ve already caught them.” At this point we were both completely frustrated and it’s 8pm. (we are very easy going people, but this was absolutely ridiculous) we paid our SEVENTY ONE DISAPPOINTING DOLLARS and left. Hey Applebees, maybe start pricing your alcoholic drinks. I wouldn’t have bought your disappointing craft cocktail that was FOURTEEN DOLLARS. Why not say how much your drinks are? Are you trying to rip people off? Horrible service. Horrible food. Horrible company. Next time I get a gift card for this restaurant, it’s going directly in the trash where it belongs.

We stopped here after a swim session as the kids loved the Mac N Cheese …. Their food did not disappoint and they ate it up. My side salad and Chicken Bacon Sandwich was massive. It took a while to get the food; however, in the end it was a solid meal.

June 24 –> Came due to a coupon and to taste some of the new items. Not bad, but it’s still the same Applebee’s. Surprisingly, the Fiesta Lime chicken came out very dry and with no cheese. Staff problems seem to have been resolved. But there was an issue with the coupon that brought us in … however the manager resolved it to our satisfaction.

Typical of the chain and very understaffed! Only three servers who were definitely hustling! I suspect there were only a few in the kitchen also as wait times were relatively long and food was on grill for too long.

It’s the ONLY place open late around me post-pandemic so we go there a lot after shows. I miss the $1 cocktails. Lol Food is fine but it’s been the same forever. That said it’s always been good. Mine could definitely use a deep clean and a mid-day tidying.

On 9/27/25, our friend called the McMurray location to be placed on a waitlist for 7 people (one of these people being in a wheelchair) for 6:00 p.m. When we arrived the host said she had to check with the manager to see if we had to wait for a table or if since we were on a waitlist if that moved us to the top of the list. She came back and said that we got moved to the top of the list. We were then seated at an oval booth.
After about 15 minutes, our waitress (Emily) came and introduced herself. My husband asked that the table be wiped as it was all sticky. She came and wiped the table off and dried it with napkins. She took our drink orders which took about 15 minutes to come. There were no alcoholic beverages that were ordered. When she brought the drinks to us she had got whipped cream in the other soft drink and had to go back for a new one which took about 10 minutes again. We had to ask for sweetener for our iced tea 3 times.
She then disappeared for a while and came back to get appetizer order but realized she didn’t have a pen which again took her a while to come back. She took our friend’s appetizer order but never ours. At this point, my husband said just forget about the appetizer for us. Some time passed and she finally came to take our order only because she had our friends’ appetizers they ordered for the kids. We had to ask for plates and silverware.
She came back after while and took our meal orders and at that time most of us needed refills for our drinks. Our waitress told us that they were out of broccoli so when I ordered my ribeye steak, I asked what other side I can get in place of the broccoli, and she said oh yeah… After I told her I will take a salad she told the 2 other people in our party that they can also choose another side. If I hadn’t said anything we would not have received our second side with our meals.
Our soup and salads for the table finally arrived. The appetizer plates sat empty on our table as were our drinks. (We had to continue to ask for refills). Finally, our meals came, my ribeye had no taste to it like they forgot to put salt and pepper on it. It was more than half fat. I didn’t send it back because it was already 1 ½ that we were there. Our friend’s kid who also got a ribeye was not cooked to the temperature that was asked. When Emily finally came to our table our friends indicated that the steak was not cooked to the correct temperature. Emily indicated that she would have to get the manager to come look at it. The manager came and indicated that the steak was not cooked to medium well and he would have it corrected. He came back with a new steak to be even worse than the original. This time the manager indicated that he would cook it himself. He brought the steak back in less than 2 minutes and stated that he “temped it to 180”. The child ate some of the steak but still had some pink in it.
We overed heard a staff member say they were short-handed. Listen, I understand as I have worked in the food industry and people take it out on the waitress when the cook is messing up. This was not the case. The waitress and the cooks both are at fault. What should have been done is that the wait staff mention that we are short-staffed tonight and things may take longer than normal.
So, my husband who is in the wheelchair goes to the restroom. He comes back and indicates that there was no toilet paper in the handicap stall and that he had to go to another stall for that.
There are some problems with this restaurant that need fixed.
