My husband and I came across Caffe Tosi on one of our visits to Southwest Michigan and now we make it a point to go whenever we are in town. We’ve had the ham egg and cheese croissants, a variety of salads and pastas from the to go counter, and various lattes. All enthusiastic thumbs up.
This place is totally charming with awesome staff and delicious food and coffee. Don’t miss it while you are in St. Joe.

Tosi’s Café is a true gem in downtown St. Joseph. Cozy, warm, and unpretentious, it feels like stepping into a cherished memory. From childhood visits with my grandmother to bringing my own family today, it’s always been a place for meaningful conversation, comfort, and connection.
Anne (owner), Kim (manager), and the team make everyone feel welcome and seen — remembering names, orders, and the little details that matter. The café isn’t just about amazing coffee, fresh baked goods, and delectable food; it’s about kindness, warmth, and the small moments that make life special.
Tosi’s is more than a café — it’s heart, community, and small-town charm at its best.

Had breakfast here this morning, all the food was top notch, honey had a croissant breakfast sandwich with turkey bacon and cheese, my daughter and I shared a pecan waffle, bacon and fruit bowl. I was so excited to see the fruit bowl was berries! I’m so used to honey dew, cantaloupe and a grape when you order a fruit bowl. Honey got a coffee and I got a brown butter toffee latte, also very good. The atmosphere is a little less that comfortable, very cramped especially once it starts to get busy, some things they can’t help, like the size of the space but I do feel they could organize things to better accommodate people that want to eat inside. Staff was friendly, over all very good experience.

A nice and quick place to eat. The atmosphere was very welcoming, and the sandwiches and soup hit the spot. Plenty of bakery items as drinks to choose from.

A delightful European-style stop in St. Joseph
The St. Joseph locations of Bit of Swiss and Caffè Tosi offer a charming, very European experience. Klein und fein—small, cozy, and thoughtfully done.
The baked goods are excellent, with especially delicious breakfast croissants that are fresh and flavorful. The coffee is very good, and there is also an impressive variety of teas to choose from. The space may be small, but it is warm and inviting, making it a lovely place to slow down and enjoy a quality pastry and drink.
A wonderful spot for anyone who appreciates European-style cafés and well-crafted treats

3.5/5 – pretty dang charming cafe with a fantastic atmosphere and decent coffee! Food looked real good too, but I only splurged for the deserts, and I found them a little disappointing for the price ($6-$7) per desert. Maybe if I come back and get their food, I’ll bump up the price, but overall I’d probably just stick with the coffee and the food!

We loved this spot! We visited for the weekend. I enjoyed a chai latte and salmon with spinach. My husband had a rubber and quinoa salad.

The food is the star of the show. Fresh, well prepared, natural and real, unprocessed ingredients. The kind of food that is not so easy to find at casual restaurants in America. The price reflects it—it’s definitely on the high side for a counter service restaurant/coffee shop—but it’s worth it. The Italian Tuna Salad is amazing!
