This Japanese steak house has been a staple in northwest OKC for years. I have celebrated many birthdays here. The food is still very good and consistent every time. I feel like the decor has not changed either in all these years. The dried up fountains in the eating rooms might need a little refresher. Our chef was not very entertaining this last trip either. No fancy food tricks or shots of shrimp in your face. Kind of disappointing. I hope this was just a slow night and a chef in training because I have lots of love for this icon of food history in Northpark Mall. I will still return soon and hope for the best.

The food was very good, the waitstaff did a great job, everything was spot on from the first to the last. From rice, vegetables, steak, chicken, and seafood, everything is cooked in front of you and served fresh and delicious. The onion volcano is exciting to see and feel the heat from this fire. The sherbet in several flavors is maybe the part the kids enjoyed most.

Server was the best part of the experience. I have never been and will not go back. All the ginger wasn’t so good. Salad dress no. Ranch bets yours by a mile. It took 1:45 before they even started to cook the food. Only two server in the restaurant. $27 plus for a new york steak no seasoning. The chef said about two words.

This has been a family favorite spot for years. Never a bad experience! Until today. Our chef was timely and our waitress was amazing. She went above and beyond. However, the food quality has really gone downhill — it felt more like cafeteria food than restaurant quality.

Our daughter and her boyfriend went last night, the rice was frozen. My daughter wanted to order noodles they were out of that. They were out of a lot of food and their food tasted horrible. Sad that two teenagers spend their own money to eat and their food was not good at all. They usually go to another hibachi place but it was booked so they tried this one. Do not recommend it

I never thought I would have to write this kind of feedback, a place that has been one of my favorites for over 15 years. Many wonderful memories have been made there over the years.

Unfortunately, during our visit this past weekend, my family and I had a very disappointing and concerning experience. My mother was served spoiled meat. The smell was unbearable, and the taste made her sick immediately. We informed our server, who was very apologetic, and we appreciated her professionalism.

However, I am writing this not about the service, but out of concern for public health. Spoiled meat can cause food poisoning, and depending on how the food is prepared, it can contaminate other dishes as well. This is a serious issue that should not be overlooked.

Sadly, after this experience, we will not be returning. We paid for our meal, but this situation goes far beyond dissatisfaction, it is a health hazard that needs to be addressed immediately.

The service here always tends to be SUPER SLOW!! Be prepared to wait for a long time on refills. Our cook arrived before our soup and salad and we waited like 25 minutes for our drink orders to be taken after we were seated. The food is decent but it’s not the best Hibachi we’ve had.

It’s not clear what happened here, but this Shogun was EXTREMELY understaffed. They might have had 2 chefs and 2 servers.

It took nearly 10 minutes for us to be seated – with a reservation. Once we were seated, it took almost 15 minutes to get a drink. We were not served our first food until about an hour after our reservation time, about 45-50 minutes after being seated.

To cap it off, the chef clearly had limited or no hibachi training. He did his best, but the food was sub-par and BLAND for a hibachi restaurant, and there was essentially no show.

And finally, to add insult to injury, the prices were SIGNIFICANTLY higher than menu price. We understand supply chain issues, but the difference was about 20%. Ridiculous, given the poor quality and service.

I don’t blame the staff. I feel they did their best, but clearly there are serious issues at this restaurant. The server was kind and patient, the chef was nice, but clearly this staff is out of their depth.

We will try again after a significant period of time, once this restaurant has had time to recover from whatever disaster caused its major issues.

Reservation for 7:30. 5 people. Got here at 7:20. Said we’d be seated in 10 minutes. We were. It’s 8:35 and we still have no chef…. no food besides soup & salad 40 mins ago. Kind of ruined the vibe for our celebration! Manager just came over & said our chef is getting ready now & should be here soon.
Chef started at 8:40pm. Chef left from cleaning grill at 9:05. He did good food but not as much show/entertainment as we’re use to. Seemed rushed. It was fine but waiting so long. Food needed a little more seasoning.

Been coming here at least once a year for nearly 30 years for special occasions. Price naturally has gone up significantly, but the portions have decreased. Main course is still about the same, but vegetables have been obviously lessened. Soup last night was luke warm, and apparently they don’t give tomatoes in the salads anymore. Shrimp was also slightly undercooked. Wait time after seated has gone up quite a bit probably because they are understaffed like everywhere these days. We might be looking for a different restaurant for special occasions. Very sad.
