Pho Love is a nice addition to Altoona. They’re just getting started and finding their footing, so it’s likely you’ll be waiting around before and after being seated.
Our food came out all at the same time, appetizers and entrees. The spring rolls (fresh rolls) were good, as was the peanut sauce. The shrimp wontons and chili sauce were delicious, but incredibly expensive given how small they were ($10).
A small bowl of Pho will run you up a little over $13, and it’s the perfect portion. The Pho broth has a good flavor, but it is missing a bit of depth. Overall, it’s a decent bowl. They were unfortunately out of bean sprouts this evening.
I would definitely give them a visit if you’re looking for Pho in Altoona.

Service was friendly and fast. This is the first time trying this restaurant. The Vietnamese spring rolls with the peanut sauce was to die for. The house special beef pho was very good with the thinly sliced beef tasty. The waitress explained to us how to add different sauce and additions to our pho. We loved the Thai tea!
We can’t wait to return and try some other dishes.
I certainly hope this restaurant is successful. Good luck in this endeavor Kenny.

My son got the special pho, and I got the combination fried rice. Perfectly cleaned and cooked shrimp, melt in your mouth beef and chicken. Fresh, fantastic flavor. Kudos to the owners. What a gem here in Altoona. Best, freshest restaurant in the area.

As of writing this review, Pho Love very recently opened. Due to the rush and relatively small dining area, there was a wait and service was a bit slow. Given how recently it opened, I don’t hold it against them (though this is the reason for the 3 star service review). I expect this will sort itself out as the owners gain experience and there is less of a rush. I hope to be able to leave an updated review in a few months!
No pictures of menu, but as of 10/31/25, the current menu was posted on the official Facebook on 10/30/25.
I’m satisfied with the quality of the food. I ordered the Vietnamese Spring Rolls as an appetizer and the pho gau (beef pho). Spring rolls were stuffed, pho beef was tender, and it was served with normal pho garnish. Broth also had good flavor. I’m also satisfied with value for money.
If you’re interested, I highly encourage you to check it out. No need to run to state college if you’re wanting Vietnamese or Pho.

Took my girls here while we were traveling, and we were blown away by both the hospitality and the food. My girls got beef pho, and I had pineapple curry. Everything was wonderful, and our server was incredibly kind and attentive. It’s recommend Pho Love to anyone!!
