Since 1988, Gritty McDuff’s has been creating fine, handcrafted ales and traditional pub fare. From our humble beginnings as a small brew pub in Portland’s Old Port, we’ve grown to become the brew pub of choice for Mainers and folks from away. From the start, Gritty’s was at the forefront of the brewing renaissance in the Maine. Founders Ed Stebbins and Richard Pfeffer had two simple goals in mind: to create a brew pub that will be a pioneer in Maine Craft Beer serving fresh ales and great food, and to have fun doing it!

Highly recommend the tots and falafel wrap! So tasty. They have cask beer which is also awesome if you’re looking for UK vibes. Tuesday night was chill with live acoustic music. Excellent location, we’ll be back!

Lovely place with great vibes inside and lovely seating area outside. We only had beers which were excellent, service was prompt. The place is quite big with very nice interiors. Friendly and easy going atmosphere, They even let us sample a couple of beers before choosing the ones we liked—at no extra charge!! Definitely recommended!!

Very busy for a Thursday late lunch. Samples for helpful trying to decide on beers. Waitress was very good. Fried chick and Rachel were great. Pan fried ravioli were good. Solid lunch!! Great beer!!
Came back a few more times and Gritty’s really never disappoints, except for the turkey club (not toasted), the french dip (just not worth it) and the tater tot poutine (just a huge disappointment – please cook those tots!!). Everything else – so good.

Great pub with a chill atmosphere. Molly at the bar helped us with two pours of bourbon before moving to a table once our wives arrived. I don’t remember our waitress’s name but she was very fun as well. I highly recommend giving this place a try!

If you’ve never had Blueberry beer, you have to try it here! Not the biggest fan of beer in general, but this one specifically had me coming back for more. Their take on a lobster roll was simply delicious.

Walked in and sat at the bar for a late lunch and to grab a beer. My server was fantastic and she was working hard. Offered a suggestion for a beer and it was good.
Lots of food sounded good. I tried the fried chicken sandwich and fries. Fries were a little soggy. Chicken sandwich was good. Good was pricey but kind of expected for the area.
Seating was ample. Atmosphere was nice.

Went for dinner and sat outside. The outdoor seating was picnic tables – it was alright. Got clam chowder and wings, burger, and chicken strips and apple sauce for the kiddo. The food was good overall although I would say the wings had too much sauce on them. We didn’t finish everything so we packed some to go. The service was great. The bathrooms were upstairs so quite a trek from where we were. I would recommend the place. The strip has so many choices for food.

The most small and overpriced lobster roll in Maine.I was really disappointed by the size… they barely fill the bread and add lettuce in the bottom.
The beer was good. We got fish and chips and the deep fried shrimp; they were okay. We had them with sweet potatoes that were really good.
The waitress was excellent! We went for a Sunday lunch 2 weeks ago!
Suggestion: go for the beer.

Came here to watch the Little Rock Spurs minor league soccer game. Then got the chili. The chili was amazing, licked the bowl clean.
