The place is ok, serves some really good food but it kinda depends on what you order. The fish and chips we ordered (with halibut) were absolutely amazing. Cooked to perfection! The spiny lobster was nice but nothing special to make it cost $80. It also came with a side but then I ended up being charged for the side so … IDK. One of the sushi rolls was ok but the soft crab one was not – the crab was black from being over fried and didn’t taste fresh. Staff is nice and friendly.

NDM Fish House is located off the waterfront street in Catalina. We decided to give them a try. The restaurant is small, with booth seating and some chairs, for non-booting seating and makes it easier for handicap customers. We came in, were seated and provided menus. We ordered water while perusing the menu. The waiter that helped us was friendly, but kept forgetting our waters. He finally brought the waters and we placed our meal orders. We had lobster bisque and fish and shrimp. The food was brought out hot. The lobster bisque was very good. The fish and chips were excellent. The crust on the halibut fish was crispy, light and really had a good flavor. The French fries were dipped in something and they were excellent. We all tried each other’s food and thought it was all good. It was nice to eat at a local restaurant and it made for a nice midday meal while touring Catalina Island

Okay place for seafood, though not amazing. The bread on my lobster roll was too stiff and the lobster itself wasn’t tender enough. The fries were decent. I liked their shrimp burrito. The fish and chips was okay… but the pieces of fish served were much smaller than I was expecting.

Arrival: 12:30pm on a Sunday
Wait time: basically none
Service was decent. Food came out pretty fast. Bottled water for sale only, so bring your own water.

Poke bowl with salmon. Half rice, half lettuce
Rice was very hard. Not fully cooked.
Salmon was minimally seasoned, but tasted pretty fresh. I added soy sauce and the rice ended up too salty. The masago, avocado, seaweed salad, and edamame were good.

Spicy tuna burger
It was good. Has a decent kick (coming from someone who had a spice tolerance).

Fries were very salty. Shoe string. Very crunchy.
Garlic bread was good.

I went here three times for lunch while I stayed in Avalon. That should say something! I loved the atmosphere and the food! I had the pier salad with whatever fish they had for the day. Delicious. My teen loved the fish tacos and my husband enjoyed the fish and chips. Many people were ordering sushi which also looked great. This is one of those treasures that make you look forward to returning to a place! We’ll be back.

I did a pickup order and it was quick to come out. The person on the phone was nice and answered all my questions, but that’s the only positive point. Hence a 2 star. The rice was so hard in my nigiri it would get stuck in my teeth, I couldn’t stomach eating it. My husband had a difficult time with his poke bowl too and had to throw it away. Just not good, unfortunately. The fish was mediocre at best. I had high hopes, what a waste of $60.

WOW! A super unassuming, tucked away little place that served our BEST meal on the island. Fish tacos with blackened halibut, ripper roll and b-rock roll. All were absolutely delicious. We will definitely be back!

Best fish sandwich I ever had. Some dishes have larger portion sizes for similar prices. Definitely worth trying if you are close.

We absolutely loved the food! We had the scallops as an appetizer and sushi rolls as our meal. Super fresh fish (that they catch) and it was so good! Definitely recommend if you love fresh seafood! If you are going for dinner, get there early! Daniel was our server and he was amazing! I also have a gluten allergy and they were very accommodating!
