The menu had lots of great options that reminded me of many trips to Mexico. For this visit I went with the queso fundido with chorizo, served with fresh handmade corn tortillas, and it was absolutely delicious. I also tried the tacos dorados plate, crispy tacos filled with potatoes and topped with carnitas and a fresh, flavorful garnish. So good!
Can’t forget to mention the chips and salsa both were excellent, and the spicy salsa options added the perfect kick for those who enjoy some heat.
Paired it all with a cold soda and wow… such a satisfying meal.
The place had a pleasant vibe and great service, definitely returning
recommended were the Tacos de Birria and the Carne en su Jugo. Both had wonderful flavors but the soup seemed to have less carne and more liquid than the menus image showed. Prices seemed on the higher side than we were expecting. We do still recommend Guanatos Grub.
For now, going to say this is a solid 4 out of 5 stars. Might upgrade to 5 if we go back and try other food before end of my trip. Region is Guadalajara.
Came in Wednesday afternoon. Not very crowded when we came in. Atmosphere was interesting. Decor is colorful and they were playing some 80s and 90s music, right up my alley. We were seated quickly and chips and salsa followed shortly after.
My wife ordered the chile relleno with chicken. I asked the waitress for her opinion on the burrito or the torta ahogada. She suggested the burrito so I went with that.
Both our dishes were super flavorful. Even the rice and beans were seasoned perfectly. The carnitas in the burrito were juicy and delicious. The chile was well filled and also delicious. We were later talking to another employee…dont know if he was the manager or owner, but he suggested to try the torta next time, so that’s my plan. He also brought out a little sample of the mole sauce for us to try. This is not a sweet mole. This is a deep and rich mole with a subtle heat to it. Im honestly not sure if I’ll order a mole dish or a torta next time.
We finished the meal by splitting a flan. The flan was dense but o so smooth. The caramel sauce was right on the line of tasting burnt, but in a good way. All in all, really enjoyed our meal and will try to make it back before the end of our trip. Highly recommend.
I visited during an off-hour around 2 p.m., so it was not very busy. I was seated and served right away. Ordering was quick, and they brought out chips and salsa while I waited. The salsa was unique because it was served hot, temperature-wise, and it had excellent flavor. The chips were freshly fried and tasted great as well.
For my entrée, I ordered the burrito, and it did not disappoint. Like I mentioned earlier, it might be the best burrito I have ever had, or at least in the top three. It was packed with flavor and perfectly prepared.
I was planning to try a dessert, but I was so full after the meal that I could not eat anything more. Next time, I will definitely save some room and explore more of the menu. I highly recommend checking out Guanatos Grub if you are in the area. It is a spot you will not want to miss.
The service was amazing. I sat at the bar, and Pepe was my bartender. He was nothing but attentive and made sure my visit was nothing short of excellent. He truly went above and beyond. And I have to mention his smile, he was smiling all night! It made the whole experience even better.
I got the tacos de birria and they were delicious. I ordered them without cheese and loved them so much that I ended up getting another one to go.
