Drinks were great and the food was surprisingly good! The fry on the fish sandwich was really nice. Can’t beat the beach atmosphere.
The only reason this is not a 5* review is the “servers”. They indicated to seat yourself in the beach area for table service. And we did. But we waited, and waited, and… waited. And none of the 3 or more servers even so much as looked in our direction. Not an exaggeration. After at least 20+ minutes we gave up, went and ordered from the bartenders, and sat up at the bar. Food came very quickly after we did that. Props to the bartenders and chef team! So, our experience is that you either be prepared to be extra aggressive to get served, or just go to the bar to eat.

Look up “perfect beach bar,” and you probably find a picture of Dinghy’s! This is one of my favorite spots in the USVI. Delicious food (esp the poke), ice-cold beers, perfectly-concocted Painkillers, friendly staff, and toes-in-the-sand dining, all right on beautiful Honeymoon Beach on Water Island. A must-do while spending any amount of time in St Thomas, even if you are only in for a port day. The Water Island Ferry is a short walk from the Cruise Port at Charlotte or a short cab ride from the Havensight Cruise Pier. The ferry leaves every hour on the hour and only takes about 10 minutes. Once at the Water Island pier, a free shuttle (tip the driver, please!) takes you right to Dinghy’s! Stop debating and go!

Dinghy’s Beach Bar on Water Island was such a fun experience! We spent a few hours enjoying the beautiful surroundings, and it was a perfect day. The food was fantastic—we tried some appetizers and drinks, and everything was delicious. The kids had a blast playing in the water while we relaxed and soaked in the sun. The water ferry ride over added to the adventure, making the whole experience feel like a mini escape. The vibe at Dinghy’s is laid-back and welcoming, making it a must-visit spot for families and anyone looking to have a great time by the beach. Highly recommend!

I am rating this beach as The Best in Water Island and St Thomas! The beachside restaurant was ok. Not outstanding but ok. We ordered several drinks including their classic creamy dinghy and the bartender was very generous with those we also ordered the fries, chicken strips and bang bang shrimp but The star of the show was the crystal clear beach ️ Oh my Gosh

Visited Water Island, Honeymoon Beach and Dinghy’s Beach Bar & Grill on my first full day in St. Thomas. Dinghy’s is brilliant, they offer a shuttle from the ferry directly to their slice of heaven. You can rent beach chairs, umbrellas, grab a drink and some of the best bang bang shrimp and fish tacos all from Dinghy’s!
The live music is perfect, as a solo traveler I felt very safe, and the bartenders are friendly. Service can be a bit disorganized and slow but on an island, where do you really need to be?

Quick ferry ride over from St Thomas. Had a great time and saw plenty of sea turtles. Bang bang shrimp is phenomenal! Fairly inexpensive to rent a beach chair and umbrella

Dinghy’s is a very cute, tucked away beach bar where you feel like you’re in on a secret. Beautiful weather, great service, and a beach that feels like there’s plenty of room for people. Unfortunately, this will have to be a memory of our trip a year ago compared to a few days ago.
We were so excited to come back to Water Island and go to Dinghy’s. It was the whole highlight and purpose of our trip. Once we arrived, we can see that some improvements were made such as new seating and new shade, but not for anyone that just showed up. That’s because some booked the entire site of Dinghy’s. Want a seat and have a bite? Nope, private event only. Ok, well maybe a chair on the beach? Nope, private event booked all that too. Ok, well can I get food? Yeah, but you have the reject seating and just wait for your food to show at some point. Basically, unless you were apart of this private event, you were treated horribly—even at the bar trying to get a drink.
After talking with some locals, we learned that the owner, Lisa, is responsible for this. And all her actions have completely ruined what was a good spot. Oh and about that private event, there was clear signage that the event was 11:30-2:30 yet no one from said event showed until over an hour later—way to piss off everyone else just looking at empty chairs and tables.
While the food was good when we got it, here’s what we learned for our next trip: bring your own chairs, bring your own food, and bring your own drinks. Do not give your money to this establishment. They’ll happily take it and metaphorically spit on you on your way out.

Great food and drinks right on the beach! Bonus that you can rent beach chairs, umbrellas, and more! The beach itself is gorgeous and having easy access to the restaurant by dinghy or golf cart is great!
