This place is a Morris County treasure with a unique menu! I eat pizza more than anyone I know and my family LOVES Krust Kitchen.
Where else can you get great versions of Detroit, Chicago, and Trenton style pies? Oddly their regular pie may be the least great thing on their menu. The sides are spectacular and plentiful. Jumbo cinnamon pretzels, fried Oreos, and many other treats really bring this place to another level. It’s fun to try different things every time I order, and I’m never disappointed.
As an added bonus the staff is very friendly. I enjoy talking to Keith as he’s a guy that truly loves his job.

Ordered through Uber eats and was so good I wanted to leave a positive review! I got the Brooklyn hot honey pizza and I was a little unsure about the goat cheese when choosing and figured I would give it a shot. it’s the best touch and a mild goat cheese, the arugula really gives it a fresh balanced flavor too. The pretzel was soft on the inside with the perfect crisp on the outside and the everything bagel seasoning actually stays on the pretzel! Thanks for dinner!

We have been waiting to try this place because they seem to have a variety of pizza styles (namely Detroit style). While delivery was super-fast (we used uber), we were very disappointed in the products.
Detroit Style- the cheese looked very gummy and I wish it was standard mozz. They use a Wisconsin brick, which tastes mostly of mild cheddar. The crust was very dense and not the airy yet crispy crust we are accustomed to. I couldn’t tell where the cheese ended and the dough began.
Pan – this was serviceable and the mushrooms were of the can variety (which is actually what we prefer as they are more chewy). The crust was crisp at ends. The cheese left some flavor to be desired.
Kudos for churning out pies really fast. We just had different expectations here.

First, as a general rule, I really try very hard to refrain from writing negative reviews, especially for small businesses. However, in this case, the food here is inedible and absolutely disgusting. There are other comments about the Detroit pizza, which is legitimately one of the worst pizzas I’ve ever attempted to eat. In fact, I threw it away. It was inedible and disgusting. Not fully cooked, and just tasted awful. No one in my family could eat it, either. Assuming it was cooked properly, it still would’ve been disgusting. We also ordered sliders which were not good, and my daughter got chicken tenders, which also were not good. Fries were soggy and gross. Overall, very disappointed and would never go back. $50 in the garbage.

The staff and manager were wonderful and very nice. Top-notch service. It’s tough for me to find restaurants that will make pizza with crust the way I like it, and at this place, the pizza was perfect. They cooked it just the way I liked it, and the cheesesteak was excellent as well.

****UPDATE*** While I appreciate the reply from the business, we reached out immediately upon getting home with the pizzas via the contact form on their website, considering we placed the order online, intended on providing these exact photos to them, and the site said they would get back to us ASAP. (We have a screenshot from when the contact form was submitted stating “Thank you for your inquiry, We will get back to you shortly” to ensure it properly sent). While this may not be a common occurrence to their knowledge, it was our experience and the photos speak for themselves.
PSA to anyone curious about the Detroit style pie to perhaps choose another option, or another pizzeria altogether. We heard about this place and decided to try it out for the first time after seeing some pretty great reviews and the pies looked great! Unfortunately, photos did NOT reflect the product we consumed. The 3 pies were on the pale side, the crust on the ‘hand tossed’ pie or the pan pie compared to a Dominos pie (and I’m being generous by saying that).
But what I am really writing this review about, is the Detroit style pie. PLEASE DO NOT get this pie unless you want to ingest raw pizza dough. It is clear that the center of the pie did not reach the proper internal temperature to fully cook the dough. I was hesitant to eat it when the cheese seemed barely melted on the top, but figured they follow basic food safety measures to ensure the internal temperature of the pie would result in a cooked product – I was wrong. We were both sick as a result of just eating a couple bites before pulling the cheese back and realizing the dough was still raw. We reached out to them via their contact form on their website and haven’t heard back. Truly disappointed with the product and the lack of customer care as we wanted to alert them to avoid anyone else from getting sick.

(Voice of The Rock, WWE): “Finally!!!! Great pizza has arrived to Madison!!” The NY thin crust with pepperoni did not disappoint. Really thin with an abundance of pepperoni and cooked to a crisp perfection! Got an order of meatballs and they were tender, juicy and well seasoned!!! For dessert I got the 1/2 pound chocolate chip cookie and empanadas filled with cannoli cream! Need I say any more? Thank you Krust for coming to Madison. We’ve been waiting a really long time!

Just wanted to write about my experience ordering with Krust Kitchen. Every order of pizza, from the hot honey pepperoni to the pesto pizza, has been nothing but excellent and you can’t go wrong with anything ordered from Krust Kitchen. My favorite order from Krust Kitchen so far has been the hot honey pepperoni, and I will definitely be ordering different pizzas every time I go! I truly am happy to order from here, and keep up the good work!

Krust Kitchen is a take out only place (how he creates such great food out of such a small space I don’t know). From talking to the owner he is a trained chef and he seems to have the pride that makes for great food..and is the food great. We have tried mostly his pizza varieties, we have tried the Detroit, New York New York (Brooklyn), his regular pie, the cheesesteak pie, and the Chicago pie and they are all fantastic (with the Chicago one, kiss your diet goodbye for a week, it is loaded). The New York New York is an excellent example of Brooklyn thin crust pizza, it is as good as I have had at some of the famous places in Brooklyn. The Detroit was amazing too, though I can’t tell how authentic it is since I have never had it from a place in Detroit.
We also have had hamburgers from here and they are some of the best we have had out here, they were huge, and tasty, grilled properly on a proper roll.
I am looking forward to trying some of his italian dishes and seeing if they are as good. We have tried some of his appetizers and they were great too.

I had the privilege of trying the pan pizza as well as the more traditional thin crust. Both were excellent, easily the best pizza in the area. Keith, who assisted me, was a pleasure to chat with and even gifted me a free pie due to a miscommunication. I will absolutely be back.
