We found there are three main sitting areas at The Jones Creek Cafe and the atmosphere differs by the area. The main dining room is nice, the bar area is a lot more lively and outdoors is more private. Our food was good and our sever was very friendly and attentive. A nice local restaurant.

Fantastic Oyster Bar Experience at Jones Creek Cafe in Baton Rouge!
We stopped by Jones Creek Cafe in Baton Rouge on a road trip and had an amazing experience! We visited on a Thursday for their special oyster deal—25% off a dozen oysters, bringing the price down to just $16.50 minus 25%! The oysters were incredibly fresh, a perfect balance of price and quality.
They also have Happy Hour from 3-8 PM, Monday through Friday, with great discounts on drinks!
For food, we tried their soups—my husband ordered the Gumbo, a dish deeply rooted in Creole and Cajun traditions. The Creole people, descendants of French, Spanish, African, and Native American cultures in Louisiana, perfected this dish by blending European techniques with local ingredients. The Gumbo was rich, flavorful, and packed with authentic Cajun spices, seafood, and sausage—exactly what you’d expect from a true Louisiana classic!
I had the French Onion Soup, which was delicious, though the presentation was quite unique!
A big shoutout to our server, Ashley—she was incredibly attentive, friendly, and made our visit even better. The atmosphere was welcoming, the food was fantastic, and the prices were great.
If you’re in Baton Rouge, definitely stop by Jones Creek Cafe! Highly recommend!

My lady and I sat down late Sunday afternoon around 2:15 and they closed at 3pm. We were originally told the kitchen was closed but ehh later came back with menus and offered yo make us food! We ordered bottomless mimosas along with charbroiled oysters with crab meat and pepper jack cheese. So delicious. The seafood platter was plentiful except they forgot my extra soft shell crab I ordered( they still charged me for it) and I waited about 30 minutes for silverware (we dropped originals) I eventually stole rolled silverware from an empty table setting. My food sat in front of me getting cold for about 15 months. My lady got the redfish smothered in ramulaude sauce it was so good. The major problem arises with the extremely rude and uncooperative staff. Around 3:45 (45 min after they closed but we sat down well before closing) we paid our check gave a good tip despite poor service and we asked for an additional bottle of champagne to go for our “bottomless mimosas”. This business doesn’t stand behind their product. They are not reliable. We were cut off from our “bottomless” mimosa and told they were closed. They had to do nothing but hand us an additional bottle of champagne as pertains to their advertised “bottomless” mimosas and we would have happily left. No additional payments no drawyer counting no back stock adjustment just simply deduct one bottle. We were rudely denied the service and menu item we paid for and the reason was they were closed. We walked out with the bottle we had on our table since it had a little left in it and we were accused of doing something illegal and they called the cops on us. What cowards. How is it illegal for me to carry out a product or substance I paid for of legal age. Not to mention the whole ordeal was so absurd and offensive my lady forgot her phone. We called it to try and find it after we left, someone from the store answered and said they had the phone and the cops were waiting on us. This business is run by immature wannabe adults who don’t have any work ethic and would rather cut the experience of their customer to benefit their time or interest. Although we were completely capable of driving, we did participate in their bottomless mimosa menu item of which we were absurdly cut off, we were fearful to retrieve our personal belongings as it seemed they were trying to set us up for legal troubles. We will be opening a lawsuit against this establishment and will be using our highly effective influence in the community to make sure no one is ever subjected to this abomination of so called customer service!

Food and service was great! I ordered chargrilled oysters, shrimp and corn bisque, and the crab cakes with lemon butter sauce. All so delicious!

Been seeing this restaurant for a while when going to Raising Canes. Finally got a chance to check it out. Food fresh tasting. Just wasn’t seasoned or memorable like I like it. The taste reminds me of Beausoleil. Nice atmosphere. Although there wasn’t a greeter (I chose a spot to sit and waited) when the waitress noticed me (less than 5 minutes) she asked if I’d been helped and took my order right away. Great service.

The food was TERRIBLE. The stuffed mushrooms had rancid crab on it that it was gag inducing.
The grilled tilapia was drowning in “lemon butter” that had way too much lemon.
The buffalo wings were over cooked and leathery
The shrimp Alfredo was under cooked with hard noodles.
Side salads were sad salads, with cheap ice berg lettuce that was brown
The seafood platter was all flavorless imported fish, shrimp and crawfish tails.
The fried pecan encrusted tilapia was flavorless and unseasoned.
The ONLY thing edible was the hush puppies.
Then when we were only a party of 5, when we were overheard complaining amongst ourselves one how bad the food was (and no we did not send anything back) they added a 20% gratuity to our check bringing our meal total to $175 for inedible trash.
I have NEVER been some place that adds gratuity to a single check when there are 5 people. Only large groups over 6 or split checks. The next day all of us who ate the mushrooms were sick.
I don’t know how they have such a high rating on google. Their yelp rating is far more accurate.
Years ago before covid Jones Creek was one of my favorite restaurants and we should have known it was no longer good when at 7pm on Friday night there was no wait to get a seat and the parking lot was barely full. I fail to see how they stay open at all.
They had better improve food quality.

The husband and I have been coming here for years….They never disappoint with their delicious southern menu, cool atmosphere and good customer service….They also have a covered patio with fans and TV’s…..Some nights they have a live band…unfortunately I have not visited at night In some years. On this visit we went for lunch and ordered the lunch specials…blackened catfish sensation salad for me, and seafood pasta with for him. And of course his special came with more food even included dessert!

The one, the only, the original East Baton Rouge oyster bar. Great seafood and South Louisiana cuisine. Authentic as it gets. Check out the size of these oysters!! My host Miss Toni was outstanding and very busy. So come early afternoon, beat the crowd, and get some real tastes of Louisiana. Today I stepped in to watch the LSU Baseball game. Now I need a nap. Full up! Enjoy!
