It’s some of the best sushi I’ve had in the US, to be frank. I ordered an unagi roll and a rainbow roll. They were delicious.
Simple family atmosphere and a clean restaurant. 5/5 stars.
I also ordered the spicy edamame (not pictured) which I didn’t really like. The waitress was nice though and removed it from my bill!
My only other qualm though is the automatic gratuity.
The vegetable spring rolls were mediocre at best. My husband’s sushi rolls were just okay. My hibachi chicken was a complete disaster. It was drowning in brown sauce and severely overcooked to the point that it was inedible.
I informed the waiter that my chicken was overcooked and that I could not eat it. His response was a quick “sorry” and nothing more. No offer to replace it. No manager. No attempt to make it right.
We also ordered fried shrimp and a Hawaiian roll to go. After waiting an unreasonable amount of time, the waiter admitted the cook forgot to make it. We were forced to wait even longer. When it finally arrived, it wasn’t worth the wait.
The restaurant itself is dirty, outdated, and poorly maintained. To make matters worse, nothing was taken off our bill. I paid nearly $19 for a plate of rice and an inedible meal.
This place lacks basic customer service and accountability. We will not be returning, and there are far better sushi and hibachi restaurants on the Coast.
Andy, in particular, is amazing. He’s always generous with his creativity and happy to curate something unique just for us. We’ve tried so many new things here and have never been disappointed. It’s consistent, flavorful, and always worth the trip.
Not only is the sushi incredible, but the ramen is also so good. We haven’t tried the pho yet, but it’s definitely next on our list!
Highly recommend for anyone looking for incredible sushi, comforting bites, and a personal, memorable dining experience.
The eel roll (I felt compelled to order at least 1 roll) – well where is the eel? They deliver the flavor through a thick, I nuanced sauce – not through actual eel.
I ordered the 24 piece sashimi sampler and this is where the wheels went off – first, the weird salad.. ginger and mayo? That’s what it tasted like. Looked worse. Horrible. The soup? Tepid tap water with some tofu tossed in? Couldn’t stomach it. Then, the sashimi…
The sashimi platter looked good when it was dropped off, but the quality of fish was a disaster across the board. Salmon tasted tired and cheap and was covered with cabbage – why cabbage? Salmon should stand up by itself so confused. The tunas were all bad – some had no real taste like low quality cuts frozen for way too long. Others, the main star in the back, were covered with some weird spice chutney to cover up the taste – always a bad sign.
Quality sushi shouldn’t be masked. It should have a good texture and taste on it’s own. I could not finish my meal at all and I’ve eaten crazy amounts in one sitting in the past. If you are a casual fan of sushi (and I realize most people don’t know the difference), then ignore me and go have fun. If you are serious about it, do NOT go here. 4.5 star ratings lure us in – I was duped. But trust me, this is not high end sushi at all across the board. Avoid.
The ambience is warm and welcoming, creating a relaxing atmosphere for dining. The customer service was top-notch—friendly, attentive, and genuinely caring about making our experience enjoyable.
The parking was manageable, especially since we came around lunchtime when it wasn’t too crowded. We had a great, peaceful meal without feeling rushed.
This place is definitely worth the money, and I’ll be coming back for sure. I highly recommend Fuji House to anyone looking for fantastic Japanese food. It’s a place I’ll be telling my friends and family about, and I’m already looking forward to my next visit!
