Chinese BBQ has become one of our favorite types of places and this place uses a northern style where my wife is from. Her family recommended it and we loved it. Fantastic authentic flavors and just downright delicious. Don’t let the exterior fool you.
I’m honestly not sure how easy it is to order here if you don’t know mandarin. I assume they have English menus or you can use a translate app, but I just hit the easy button and let my wife order stuff.
The beef and lamb skewers are probably the easiest to deal with for Americanized diners, but they have many different and more exotic cuts to try for the adventurous. They have a raw beef skewer which is lightly marinated which is excellent. It’s usually dipped in a wasabi and vinegar sauce which you make yourself on the table (like for sushi). At least that’s the way we eat it.
There’s a selection of drinks in a cooler you can pick from and other things to try besides the skewers. Overall this is now our favorite of all the US places we’ve tried and highly recommended.

Beef and lamb skewers. Various Northeastern Chinese BBQ dishes. Various snacks. Various specialty foods. Specialty drinks. Beer. Tastes like childhood. Very authentic. Reasonable and affordable prices. Generous portions. Occasionally requires advance reservation and there might be a short wait. I come here often. If you don’t like this, then you shouldn’t eat barbecue anymore. If you say this authentic Northeastern Chinese barbecue isn’t delicious, then you’re just not suited to eating barbecue. Try something else.

Best Northeastern style BBQ place (possible in the whole North American) for me. Food was very authentic, even the whole in a wall questionable environment is authentic lol. Unless quite some bbq place we have been to, all the bbq items were perfectly charcoal grill instead of fried. And the flavoring is tailored to each ingredient. Will definitely come back next time we are in LA area.

The service attitude was terrible, the amount of food was very small, only 1/3 of the normal skewers, and the taste was either too salty or too sweet. The noodles were not cooked or not soft. There was a small table for 5 people to dine, and the food we ordered could not fit.

Wow….I haven’t seen my sister for a month, and I made an appointment the first day. I ate a round of delicious food. My good friend came to change tables and ate another round. The business of this business is really booming. Make an appointment in advance to reserve a seat, there is no seat for Walking in. Good non-greasy dry mouth.

The beef and lamb skewers were bomb. We also order chicken skin, chicken bone, oyster, fried rice, bean curd, mantou, veggies, they were ok. If you are looking a place to drink and chat with friends, great place to be. However, if you are looking a place to a have a full meal as dinner, it is pretty pricey.

If I could give a 0-star rating on Google Reviews, I definitely would. Even 1 star feels like too much. The hygiene in the restaurant is terrible. While sitting, I could vaguely smell something bad… What’s even more unacceptable is that the meat I ate was spoiled. That one bite left me feeling nauseous all night. After finishing the meal at around 11 p.m., I woke up at 7 a.m. the next morning with such bad stomach pain that I couldn’t sleep and had to rush to the bathroom. The service was also extremely poor—zero service!
I hope the owner sees this and makes at least some improvements to their poor hygiene conditions. As a restaurant, I don’t expect outstanding service, but at the very least, it should be clean and not put customers’ health at risk.

mid. low quality. dismissive service, wall to floor covered in filth, walked in through the back door like they were operating illegally. excruciatingly long wait times. saw several people arrive after me and leave before i did. no respect from employees. hated it. better off to close down and give another business owner the opportunity
