We enjoyed our little road trip to Capitan. The food is good. The catfish, although the serving looked skimpy, was very delicious and worth a return trip– I think a smaller plate would have done it justice. Everything we tried was tasty, and the service was good with a nice family feeling.

Super cool and memorable little diner. Feels like we just walked into 1974! Really nice people run this place as well.

Pretty decent food. Pancakes are great!
Service was fast and friendly.
Old and kinda run down, but clean.
Mom and pop place.
Prices were low, but portions are small.

A cute family owned and oriented diner serving up delicious American and New Mexican food. We walked in during a busy lunch rush and they were so kind making accommodations for our group and we were almost sat immediately. I had the southwest chicken fried steak which was good. The red chile enchiladas are also great. If we are ever in the area again we will be back!

This diner turned out to have some of the best food in the area. The cuisine was a vibrant mix of southern comfort and New Mexican. Everything was well portioned and delicious. Unfortunately, the Chocolate Cake was a little on the dry side. The customer service was pleasant and homely. The atmosphere was relaxed and definitely had the small town feel going for it. I would definitely recommend a visit.

Probably the greatest restaurant in Capitan, if not the world. It is Smokey the bear themed.

What a great quaint little cafe! The pancakes were fluffy and sweet, the bacon was cooked to a perfect crisp, and the bargain prices will keep me coming back to this Smokey the Bear institution. Super quick and friendly staff, too!

We loved stopping for a bite to eat at this little restaurant. The servers were very friendly and accommodating. In fact everyone in this restaurant was awesome. The food was pretty good. The price wasn’t bad at all. All in the family approved of what they ate. There were also lots of neat memorabilia to see from Smokey The Bear. The best part was getting to eat at the 50’s style counter. Over all we enjoyed the experience.
