I tried their veg pakora once — oh God, it was amazing. And recently I had their chicken dal soup… unbelievably tasty. Whoever the chef is, kudos to you! You really know what you’re doing.

The place is small and not the cleanest-looking, but the taste is on another level. Both times I ate there, I wouldn’t call it the healthiest choice, but if you want something truly delicious, and Indian this is the place to go.

TLDR/ don’t eat here, spoiled chicken used in butter chicken from more than one person
Edit: i am sick now. Not even an hour later.

I had found good reviews on reddit from 3 months ago so i decided to give it a try but i should have looked at reviews from google first. I ordered butter chicken, dahl makhani, mix pickle and fish pakora.

First the mint chutney was delicious, but the fish pakora seemed undercooked as the batter was soggy but the fish was at least a bit flakey (as it should when cooked properly) but it still had a bit of an undercooked feel to it.

The mix pickle maybe wasn’t what i was expecting but i cannot really describe what happened when i tried eating it, it was like spicy(hot) amd sour and salty but also chalked full of spices and not in a good way, it was overwhelming and no clear flavor, inedible unfortunately.

The dahl makhani was good, a bit salty and sweet but its okay!

Then theres the butter chicken and i hope im not going to be sick because i ate two or three pieces and alit of sauce before i noticed the texture was pretty weird and when i looked into a piece it was stringy/rubbery and discolored yellow brown instead of white as chicken should be. Then i read the review about someone else getting butter chicken made with spoiled meat and it definitely isn’t fresh.
0/10 wouldn’t eat here ever again based on that alone.
Really disappointed to have ordered 60$ of food (was going to be my lunch tomorrow) and now I’m worry that I’m going to have food poisoning.

Since I first discovered this place a few years ago, we now regularly get veggie meals for supper. Good size portions for the price. Samosa, pakoras and Naan all good. Usually we also get tomatoeggplant dish, chana masala, spinach paneer, mixed veg curry. Or one of the lentil options. Also ALL very good. What I like especially is that they offer mild, medium, and spicy options for each dish. I will order a chicken dish one of these days to see what all the fuss is about, and update accordingly.
Recommend.

Absolutely delicious! Indian Affair Takeout is a burst of authentic Indian flavors in every bite. The spices are perfectly balanced, the food is fresh and aromatic, and each dish feels crafted with care. Once you try it, it is hard to order Indian food from anywhere else. Highly recommended!

We had such a delicious takeout meal from Indian Affair. We love visiting authentic hole-in-the-wall type restaurants and this place didn’t disappoint. The man working was very friendly.
We ordered 3 takeout meals, one with chicken and the other two had paneer in them. First impression, the containers were packed full and quantities were the largest of any Indian restaurant we have tried. Secondly, the flavours were strong and earthy. We ordered the onion naan and it was also so yummy!
We always try new restaurants, but this one will be a repeat visit next time we are in Ottawa.

Found this fly in the Uber order for 45$.
Felt too bad as couldn’t have another bite after seeing this. Kindly maintain your hygiene levels since we order food to eat. Having flies in the food can cause serious health issues.

HA
I’ve ordered from here twice now and after eating it I realized why I only ordered once before. The sauces taste ok but whatever kind of chicken they use, it is god awful so disgusting! It’s dark meat which most places I order from use white meat. But no biggie, dark meat still taste ok… this stuff has the grossest taste. I for sure will never order from here again now that I remember how awful the chicken taste. The biryani also lacks flavour. Overpriced for gross food.

Beware of this restaurant! They are selling stale food. This is the second time we received stale food. I ordered $50 worth food with fish pakora and that comes with chutney .. both tasted very bad and stale . First time I ordered chicken biryani it was stale too. Don’t be deceived by the looks of their food and food ratings .. they are fooling everyone in Ottawa

Hands down the best Indian curries I’ve had in Ottawa and an absolute value for your Buck in terms of quantity and quality.
Their paneer tikka, chicken tikka masala and nihari are my absolutely favourite.

The indo-Chinese dishes and samosas are a major let down when compared to their Indian curries.
