China Rose buffet

I have been coming here for many years now. This place has the most variety than any other buffet I have ever been to. The staff is friendly and attentive. It has been chilly as times, but overall, the atmosphere is great.

A very Small cup of sweet a sour sauce that was half full, I couldn’t eat the egg rolls because all of the grease pouring out of them. The bottom of the bag they came in was filled with grease. Will not be back

Had a great variety of items, which all looked great, but sadly was ruined by the overwhelming smell of mold. After noticing the ceiling and the windows, it was horrifying how much mold there was. I’m surprised it has not been shut down. Staff was friendly once greeted but were never seen after getting drinks. Hate to see this especially since it may have been a favorite stop for some years prior. I hope they get that placed clean and fixed!!!!!
P.s. Not asthmatic, but have trouble breathing after leaving.

The buffet was decent. I spent about an hour trying most of the dishes available. The dishes were mostly standard American Chinese buffet fare, but there were a few items I don’t usually find at buffets, such as mussels (done 2 ways, both cooked), haddock fillets, and pork roast. They also had better dessert options than most other buffets. Overall for the price (16.45 for dinner, 12.45 for lunch) the experience was pretty good, and I would go back.

I love China rose! People were extremely friendly! Food was great! I see they are closed and it’s been since May! Rumors are floating and it’s wrong to spread rumors! China Rose is located in an older building which could use updating! But to lie as I’ve seen some of the stories and spread rumors to get doors closed??? That’s a cheap shot and is wrong! My husband and I have eaten there on regular bases and never have I left there sick or dying because of food, conditions, attitudes, filthiness or anything! They wear gloves, hair contained and wipe the food areas down! Again sweet people and a great place! I miss the team that worked there! Also they threw a surprise last minuete no notification birthday celebration for my husband no cost out of the goodness of their heart! In January !!! It is wrong for what took place against them!!! I hope they will be back! China Rose in Brunswick you are missed!

Used to eat her as a kid and teenager and to used to be so amazing! So many amazing memories and great service.
I was in town so i ordered a pupu for 4 for my family for pick up, when i arruved i realized how run down the place was, the inside is gross! They have dead fish in there tanks!, but i still wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt because my food still smelled decent and we were starved, but no surprise the food was so nasty!! It smelled gross up close, everything was way to greasy! There was a STAPLE in my chicken wing! My family took one bite of something and we all gagged. I actually cried because of the amount of money i paid and i never thought i would get this kind of experience from this restaurant. Im not sire if there are new owners now since i was a kid but it was the nastiest “food” ive ever had. It was thrown away. I will be going back today to demand a refund. Please be carful if you do order, specially with kids, i still have no idea how that staple got imbedded in the chicken wing. Im also gonna be calling a food inspector. I genuinely think they need it.

While the staff were friendly, the food was hit or miss, crab rangoons were extremely chewy and lo mein was cold, chicken fingers were hot and delicious, overall I liked the food but all I could smell was a musty odor lingering around the restaurant and upon looking up at the ceiling all you can see is massive spots of mold, I overheard other patrons mention the mold as well. My mom picked several things from their “buffet” but after a few bites she couldn’t stomach it and left paying $12.95 for cold unflavored food. They have a sign that they will charge extra for excessive waste so she didn’t dare go back up and try other menu options.

What on earth has happened to this place? This is the second time I’ve gotten horrible food. First was the crab Rangoon and egg rolls, under filled, under fried, cold and super greasy. I gave it a pass. A month later, same thing. I came here to see the reviews and I have found similar ones. I won’t be back now, too bad. This place was second to the Freeport location but still good!

The worst Chinese food I have ever had. I took 2 bites of my chicken lo menu and threw the rest away. It smelled like it was a couple hours from being spoiled. The won ton soup had the same oder. Tossed it was well.The only thing I would say was acceptable was the 1 teriyaki steak from a pu pu platter. I spent $26 and only ate about 5 pieces from a pu pu platter and I only ate what did because I was starved. Praying I don’t get sick The restaurant was rundown and dirty. Absolutely terrible experience!

Very limited selection of food. Items such as rice, stuffed shrimp, bbq pork and lo mien were cold, even though they were on a steam table. The stuffed shrimp were especially poor quality and taste. Witnessed staff putting fresh food on top of old and mixing it in. Will definitely not be back. I do not recommend at all. very poor value for the price.
