Came here one night to try something new, very beautiful from outside and inside decor. The place was actually quiet and deserted. They have a beautiful selection of local brew beers such black horse type beer very chocolatey and delicious. They are family friendly and accommodating. Unfortunately I took a star off because appetizers were very small. We got half a dozen pickles on a long plate…kind of a disappointment for price. I had the duck special which was not bad just needs a bit more finesse and seasoning. My husband’s dish was the Marsala but tasted as it needed reduced a bit more, had overpowering wine taste. Few more minutes reduced it would be the bees knees. Overall was an ambient atmosphere and nice night out. Quiet and quaint

Waited 15 minutes for server. After placing order waited another 55 minutes and still no salad. Asked how much longer for food was told another 30+ minutes. Got up and went to pay and was told we had to wait for bill another 14 minutes for 1 coffee 1 beer and 1 glass of wine. Never got the bill ended up dropping money on counter and left. Waitresses were having to make excuses for kitchen not good for them especially when they live off tips. Kitchen was under prepared, running out of biscuits 30 minutes after opening, running out of food knowing this was their grand opening. We never got our salad and they ran out of salad dressing. I hope they will be able to fix their kitchen issues. The lighting is very poor upstairs in the balcony. Could not read menu without phone light. Table setting looked nice. Too bad I could not comment on the food. So sad. Not a good first start.

This place is such a hidden gem nestled in the heart of downtown Hopkinsville. The BBQ pork skin appetizer is delicious and the steak and sides are tasty as well. The service was great and everyone was very welcoming and friendly. Do yourself and your tastebuds a favor and give it a try. Support local businesses.

We had a great experience, great food, service and atmosphere. We ordered two appetizers, fried pickles and fried green beans they were both excellent. Our main course was the sirloin for two, it was cooked to perfection. Our server was excellent, the meal came out at the right pace (appetizer, salad, main course) We did call ahead for a reservation so there was no wait. I highly recommend the black patch!

Great ambiance. Great spot downtown. BUT my
fish wasn’t cooked through, the crab cakes were at first completely burned then the second time were cold on the inside, and the Bolognese had absolutely no salt. I honestly can’t believe they even brought the crab cakes out. The service was not prompt, like the other reviews mention; we went on a Saturday night. I asked for mac and cheese three times, ending up never getting it. It also took at least fifteen minutes to get a few sugar packets. Drove an hour to have a nice dinner with family and we had a terrible experience. Still cost us $100.00, though! I hear the location in Princeton is much better. (Same review on Yelp.)

Had a great brunch there this morning. For the first day, they did great. Good food and a reasonable price.

The place looked appealing from the street; historic and interesting inside, so we checked out the menu and decided the burgers sounded great. They came with fries and I imagined a large satisfying burger. They also had a few good beer selections on tap at $4 – $5 a glass, so we were convinced.
Waited 1.5 hours for an available reservation. Another 50 minutes to be seated.
Appetizer was tiny, …..really tiny. Another couple received similar tiny portions and just stared at their plates in disbelief.
After all the time invested in getting seated and accepting the microscopic appetizer, the waitress took our order and returned 20 min later to say they ran out of ground beef, so no burgers. Finally got chicken sandwiches (chicken breast was moist & well seasoned, but didn’t overcome the disappointment over the lack of burgers).
Ever play pick up sticks? That’s what the fries were like. Couldn’t stab them with a fork they were so thin. My wife likes to eat fries one by one, but she had to abandon that idea because they were just so small & thin; like eating twigs. I guess they cut them like that to make the portion look larger than it is, but I think it is misleading to call them french fries.
Pros; Moist chicken, good beer, nice decor
Cons: Hours lost, very small Portions, Under-stocked kitchen, sub-standard “French fries”, little effort to compensate for shortcomings, the most disappointing part of our visit to “Hop-town”.

My wife and I went here on a Saturday evening for dinner. I had shrimp scampi and my wife had the rainbow trout. Both were very good, the shrimp scampi had less butter and more lemon juice than how most restaurants fix it. I appreciated the lemony scampi. Beer list is a bit limited, but adaquet, I actually had a Riesling with my scampi, which went very well, it was one of the better Rieslings I had recently. Overall a very good experience.

Very nice. We had the salmon stuffed mushrooms for appetizer (not on menu), and they were outta this world. The salmon and the strip were both wonderful. Do not come unless you have room for a lot of food. Highly recommend.

Amazing job tonight! My wife and I happened upon your restaurant while out and about. It was a busy Friday night. We were pleasently and quickly greated and seated in Mel’s (Melanie) section. By the time I returned from washing my hands our drinks were on the table. We shared the shrimp cocktail appetizer. I ordered the Porterhouse with a loaded baked potato and grilled asparagus. My wife had the grilled salmon with the same sides. My steak was ordered medium rare and cooked to perfection and absolutely delicious. The asparagus was outstanding, it was cooked well but still firm and crisp, not soggy and limp like you would normally get at restaurants. My wife’s salmon was moist and flaky and had the taste of being wood fire grilled. We shared the mini cannolli for dessert. Presentation on all of the dishes was unique and well thought out. All of the staff from the hostess to the manager were pleasant and accommodating. By far the best $60+ dinner for two in a long time. I feel their prices are very reasonable considering the quality of the food and portion size and atmosphere.Way better than my last experience at the Black Horse in Clarksville.
