The Greene Turtle started in Ocean City as a place where beer was king and the menu consisted of a barrel of peanuts. Over time, we’ve grown an obsession with making good food and a belief that staying true to ourselves is what matters most. We make hearty food using fresh ingredients and highlight the blue crab dishes that are authentic to the Mid-Atlantic. Gather around and try food that’s so good that you’ll have to share.
Sports-bar chain with a casual menu of burgers, ribs & a variety of brews, plus plenty of TVs.

Brought my wife here on Veteran’s day, to show her the spectacular nachos I got from their sister branch in Anne Arundel, MD the other day thinking it was going to be a similar experience.
This branch is an embarrassment, not sure how the place got 4.2 ⭐️s vs the other spot because these were thee worst nachos i’ve ever eaten. Thought about not posting but I would be doing a disservice of other folks looking to get the same quality service and food at a Green Turtle location. The ultimate nachos at this branch were overcooked, some nachos torched, too brittle to enjoy.
When I asked the waiter if these were right he said they were just like that because they had to cook the chips and then melt the cheese. Asked to replace them and they came back out the same. Also, the seats had very noticeable rips and tears. Not to mention a strange dirty towel smell.
They need new management and a new cook in the kitchen. Don’t waste your time or money at this location.

Stopped in here for dinner one night and it left us satisfied but the food here was just average. There is not a whole lot of flavor. The spicy chicken sandwich was lacking flavor and was not spicy at all. The burger was also lacking something to it.. but it was still good. I enjoyed the mozzarella sticks. The deserts were also just meh. My cheesecake was warm when it came out and the cookie sundae was dry and crumbly. The chocolate sauce for the funnel fries was watery and runny. But I did very much like the service. Our waiter was very fast, polite, and got us our items quickly. I was not a fan of the atmosphere mostly because the bar area and the actual dining area are almost collided. There is nothing separating them or the noise so it’s just l Ioud everywhere. It is a sports bar though, but I think they should have a wall separation like Bubba’s has to keep the noise down for the people who just like to dine. Overall I think this was a great experience, but I would not go out of my way to eat here again.

Let me say, the bartender Kennedy was very sweet and had a great personality. My classic mojito was spot on. They have 50 TV’s and dart games. The wings was amazing, I can eat them anytime. Green Turtle is nice and clean and so is the bathroom. You know my saying dirty bathroom, dirty kitchen. Not the case here. I would totally come back here. Great way to start the morning and my 50th Birthday. Great conversation and food, can’t ask for anything better. Thank you Kennedy. 🙂

Find a reputable plumber and spend some money on getting things fixed. It’s not that hard to do. It’s absolutely disgusting. Take a little pride in running a “restaurant”. This the norm for the Turtle in Gambrills. Maybe have an employee go into the bathroom every 15 minutes to check it. Hell, can’t even fix the front door. Drunk 20 somethings (the customer base) probably don’t really care, but the adults do. Love my bartenders but danm. All of your bar regulars are sick of this shit.

My most recent visit to The Green Turtle restaurant was unfortunately a disappointing one. As always, I’ll start with the positives. The restaurant appeared clean and well-kept. I visited in the afternoon and placed a to-go order.
When I arrived, I noticed a young waitress delivering orders to seated customers. She did not greet me when I entered, so I made my way to the restroom first. Upon returning, I waited in the area designated for to-go orders. The same waitress continued assisting other guests but never once acknowledged my presence, even though it was clear she was preparing my order. At one point, we made eye contact as she brought items to the counter, yet she said nothing. The lack of acknowledgment or basic courtesy felt unprofessional.
I had ordered two Cowboy Burger meals. When I opened the containers, I was surprised by how small and uniformly shaped the patties were—so much so that I initially thought they might be plant-based. Even now, I’m not entirely sure they were beef. The burgers were overcooked and dry, though I will say the toppings were fresh and nicely presented.
Overall, the cleanliness of the restaurant and freshness of the toppings were positives, but the poor service and disappointing quality of the food made this visit far from enjoyable. Not worth the price.

We loved the service, most of the food, and the larger booths to fit 6 of us, easily. There is a secondary room within that could be used for events, but I didn’t notice if it could be completely closed off. Our server, Danny was friendly, helpful, and very attentive without being intrusive. The Buffalo nachos, pretzels, and beer cheese were just as delicious as they had been at the previous site (thank goodness!). The only thing we didn’t like was the chili, because it was heavy on the tomato flavor, but that’s just personal taste. FYI, for any Root Beer connoisseurs out there, their house root beer is now a family favorite. Can’t wait to come back!

I would love to tell you I had a great meal. I know what I would have ordered, but the hostess wasn’t up front, I waited forever and another lady tried to help me but she couldn’t find her either. When she finally got there, I had to wait again as she flipped through pages, wrote in them, earased them, again and again. She seated me and I guess didn’t tell anyone I was there cause I figured out my entire drink and dinner order. Then waited again. I just left. It might have been good, I’ll never know.

You should stop in here if you’re in the area. Good food, excellent service with the best combo of a sports bar & family restaurant atmosphere. Good deals/affordable prices. I recommend The Green Turtle in Waugh Chapel. I must mention our server Jess because she was great!

I was craving crab fries and since green turtle was close I ordered some. When I went to go pick it up I saw one of the cooks pour the crab dip in a measley cup. I saw the fries and was flabbergasted by how little crab dip was on there. I asked to put more but they explained they couldn’t.
The fries were dry at that point and I couldn’t even taste any crab after I shook it up trying to have all the fries coated. The one in Brandywine puts enough for you to taste this, with the one here I had to drink water after every bite.
I will probably gaslight myself into thinking it was just a one time thing and go back but since the memory is still fresh in my head and that $13 waste of money is still on mind I will say I wouldn’t order this again. The quesadilla was good though.
