Its not a big spot but it is a nice spot. I found this spot b/c I wanted happy hour for weekends. Omg, the food on their happy hour list is soooo good and their smoked bourbon is !!!! We sit at the bar around 3:30/4pm and tipsy by 5pm. It is one of my BEST NEW SPOTS! Won’t disappoint. Flavors, seasoning, temperature, portion size is all satisfying. Tried their goat cheese, muah!

Everything was delicious!!! Beautiful atmosphere. I love that you can see in the kitchen and the service was a 10/10. If you’re not a wine drinker trust the bartender! I’m still thinking about the one she picked for me. Also, please get the brisket grilled cheese with tomato soup. You’ll be stuck

[July 2025] Located in Downtown Clayton, parking can be found on the street or nearby garages. I was able to find a close spot on a random Friday night. During my visit, it did take some time for some staff to come up front to notice me standing there waiting to be seated. I’d been here before but was alone this time. The place is made like a date night but suitable for all audiences. With brick accent walls and upholstered booths, the one thing that always stands out to me is the wine bottle chandelier and engraved wooden tables. They do have non-alcoholic options that cost $2-$3 less than their spirit drinks. I started out with a Summer Strawberry Mint Sangria. It was very delicious and my waiter more than made up for my hostess experience. I ordered crab tostadas which were good overall but were a bit too heavy on the red onions. They also have a daily happy hour from 3pm-6pm. I would probably return and try some more menu items. From the looks of it, they do change their menu options from time to time.
Travel Note: This is a chain with locations in Des Moines and Overland Park as well!

I survived Costco on a Saturday and was looking for a spot in the area with a patio for a glass of wine when I stumbled upon Louie’s. The patio is small, but it’s right in the afternoon sun and it was empty on a weekend afternoon. As an added bonus, they have Happy Hour from 3-6 EVERY day (and all day Monday).
We ordered a bottle of wine and chatted with our server, Ryan, who was a delight. Eventually we ordered a round of brussels sprouts and he brought us a round of beignets to pair with them, which was kind of him.
I’m pretty picky with my desserts so I wasn’t a personal fan of the beignets though the couple we shared them with raved about them. The brussels sprouts were a 10/10 for me.
The inside of this place was super cute and I plan to return for another round of wine and dinner soon!

My husband and I dined in for brunch this weekend. We both ordered mimosas and they were very nice size but mostly oj.
My husband had the breakfast burrito and said it was really really good. I had gravy and biscuits with sunny side up eggs. The sausage gravy had a very different taste, almost tart. It wasn’t what I expected for sure. Service was good and while they were a little slow when we dined, I could see it being very lively and fun during happy hour. They have a fantastic wrap around bar!

Nice food with good options to dine in. Loved the wine. Lobster mac n cheese, spicy shrimp were good. Fish & chips were okay.

One of our favorite kitchens in Saint Louis ✨ The atmosphere is very cute and comfortable. The drink and food menu offers something for everyone – filled with remarkable taste! And if the weather is nice, can always take advantage of their outdoor patio.

Had a wonderful experience here! Ryan is an amazing bartender, and awesome person in general. (He was very kind to me when I was having a very bad day!) I ordered the fried cheese curds and filet, and both were excellent. Also really enjoyed the Tempranillo and espresso martini. Will definitely return next time we are in the area!!

Had been wanting to try this place for quite a while, in particular because reviews mentioned that nearly their entire menu can be made gluten free, but was particularly surprised to see that their fried food is also gluten free. I am also dairy free, so am generally not too excited/optimistic when reading things like that as the batters used for frying tend to have dairy in them. I didn’t see anything in the menu or the reviews mentioning whether the fried food is dairy free. When we arrived I asked the waiter if the fish and chips contained dairy and he checked with the kitchen who informed him that they do not–yay! (I did not verify whether the batter for the other fried items was dairy free). I went ahead and ordered the fish and chips. When it came out, it came out with ketchup rather than the tarter sauce or aioli that I expected. When I asked the server, he mentioned that this was because the sauces had dairy so he requested that it not be put on the plate. I was very impressed by his thoughtfulness. The fried fish was good, although it was missing that sauce to take it to the next level. My partner ordered the tortellini and he loved it. Overall, the experience was very positive, in particular as relates to my food restrictions, and although pricey, we would likely come again.

One word: DECEIVING! It looks like a cute little restaurant tucked away in a bustling part of Clayton. A nice patio area outside with an equally quaint inside. The decorations and lighting are great for a date night, which happened to be exactly the occasion I went there for.
Alejandro, our server, was hilarious and personable. We had such a great experience talking to him. My girlfriend ordered some mint, tequila based drink (I don’t drink so I don’t remember the name). It came in a very pretty glass and she said it tasted really good.
Here comes the best part. We ordered Emily’s Apple Harvest Salad and the Blackened Salmon Salad and split the Spicy Shrimp Diablo Pasta (something like that). The salmon was some of the best tasting salmon I’ve had in my life. I loved my salad, too and the pasta was a great way to finish the evening. The portions were large and filling and we definitely could have left some for a second meal, but it was so good we chose not to 🙂
I paid (obviously) and I was expecting to have a hole in my wallet, but given we got 3 entrees and a drink, it was very very cheap given the quality.
