We actually came into town to visit a local coffee shop and noticed this place. We decided to give it a go for lunch. It was peak lunch time and place was fairly busy. The service was doing their best to get to everyone on time and honestly they did a good job.
Food arrived in decent time. Our appetizer was pretty tasty (fried pickles), although they could have used a few more minutes cooking (a bit soggy). My partner’s food was ok. Mine was a Po’ Boy fish sandwich and I wanted to like… but the fish tasted like they had overcooked something else and fried the fish in the burnt oil. My bread was super hard, too. The fries were good.
It wasn’t so bad that we felt the need to complain, but I can’t justify five stars.
Establishment was a bit pricey considering the quality we received. The place itself was clean and roomy.
If in the area, we might give this place another go, however I wouldn’t go out of our way to try again.
I had the seafood mac n cheese and their special Christmas “Mimosa” with white wine and white cranberry juice
We ordered potato skins and what we got was literally skins only no potato in them at all and they were burnt to a black crisp. I couldn’t even cut them with a knife.
My hot beef sandwich had a decent flavor but when I received my entree, the potatoes were just room temperature. Not warm at all. My friend had the burger special of the day and was really unhappy with that, too.
And the worst part of our visit was our server. She was flat out rude. She seemed to be mad at the fact that we sent the potato skins back. Then when she set our entree down, she never came back to check on us. I flagged her down to ask for more water and after 10 minutes had passed and she had not filled our water. I carried the glasses up to her and she showed me a whole lot of attitude as she filled the glasses.
When she brought the check I had a one hundred dollar bill and put that in the folder. She came back and began with quite a crabby attitude telling me that she could not accept a one hundred dollar bill. That was the only thing I had.
My friend didn’t think she had any cash either, but she dug in her purse and found just enough money to cover the bill and leave a thirty nine cent overage.
Again, the waitress seemed quite perturbed about that and never brought the thirty nine cents back to our table. I guess she assumed that was going to be her tip. However, we didn’t plan on giving her any tip at all because she didn’t deserve it.
I very rarely leave negative reviews, but this really was above and beyond one of the worst cases of bad service I have ever encountered. I hope the manager or owner reads this and speaks to that waitress.
Server was nice and trying her best with how busy she was.
It was very loud inside… might have been the amount of people, but we could barely hear each other talk.
Will definitely go back, but maybe on a slower evening.
