The tenderloin was cooked perfectly to my requested doneness, rare, which is something not many chefs manage to execute so precisely. The fries, made from Dutch potatoes, were superbly crisp on the outside and soft on the inside.
Wanting something light to accompany the meal, the manager, Sulaiman, kindly recommended a lovely Prosecco which I thoroughly enjoyed. The pear dessert was elegant and well balanced, and the meal ended on a high note with a very good espresso made from excellent French coffee beans.
Overall, a thoroughly enjoyable dining experience with excellent service and atmosphere. I will certainly be returning.
Overall, it was a very enjoyable and relaxed dinner. Special mention to our waiter, Puwan, who was attentive and helpful throughout the evening. Our two-hour dinner didn’t feel long at all because the experience was truly pleasant. Would definitely come back.
Just be mindful if you drive, that parking is very limited within the premise. And the security told us only have valet parking. We did not use valet parking but the jockey still insisted a card RM20 to stamp by the restaurant. That was my one point off the star for atmosphere. Parking experience can improve.
Once in the Resturant, we were seated immediately to our reserved table. Our reservation at 7.30pm and ushered to a round table at quiet corner of the restaurant. Floor crew was there to help us order our drinks and food. All these at a nice pace and straightforward old fashioned good service. You order and they take your order in pen and paper.
First, the entrees. We ordered beef tartare, escargots drowned in pesto olive oil and onion soup. I recommend to try them all. For me, their taste was authentic. Suddenly I was transported back to a local French diner.
Our birthday girl had the Australian Angus MB2 ribeye steak 200g, grilled medium rare. Though there were bits of stringy tendon, but she liked the meat was tender, just a show of red in the middle and simple seasoning. No sauce. Just fries. Fries are refillable.
I ordered a 3 course All day set. For rm188, I think it was well worth the value. For option of main, I chose traditional French confit duck leg in white bean stew. Duck leg stew was well cooked through. I liked that the meat was so tender and fall off the bone. However, sauce just a bit too salty for me. The set also comes with option of salad/fries/roasted cauliflower and a dessert option.
All of us agree the star of the night was the beef bourguignon with red wine sauce (beef stew). This dish was cleaned out and we were ready to order second if not for the fact we can’t stuff ourselves anymore.
At the end of the evening, service crew surprised us with a nice flambé of crepe suzette to end the meal and crème brûlée for birthday girl on the house. So lovely of them. Crepe had that tinge of alcohol Grand Marnier and orangey sauce on chewy pancake topped with vanilla ice cream. Crème brûlée caramel crusty on top and dig in to creamy delicious custard and both dessert were made sweet.
We enjoyed our meal and had a lovely family time at Les Bouchons. Definitely will be back for another celebration. We feel they deserve the 5 star food review.
Finally, the service crew was amazing. From the floor and kitchen staff. Special shout out to Grace, who was very attentive and friendly through out the evening. We feel comfortable and well served. Hence the 5 star service review.
For parking, we used the valet service. It’s complimentary if your bill exceeds RM300; otherwise, there’s a RM15 charge.
We started with the foie gras—a great choice for a starter. It tasted really good, and I think it’s quite rare to find foie gras in restaurants around KL.
For our mains, we ordered Wagyu steak and ribeye, served with crispy fries and a fresh salad. We also added chimichurri on the side as an extra sauce. The steaks were good; I’d rate them 6.5/10.
For dessert, we had crème brûlée, which was top-tier for me. The highlight of the evening was when they surprised my husband with a free birthday cake—a lovely gesture!
Overall, everything was great. The staff were very friendly and made the experience enjoyable. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to my friends.
