I’ve been coming to this spot for a few years now, when I can, to treat myself. My favorite hands down is the lechon jibarito! Perfectly messy and stacked with so much meat! I also got a side of fries and a side of rice. I’ve never gotten fries before and im not typically a fry person but these were really good! I always get atleast 2 full meals out of one order.

We would have loved to try the food but the atmosphere felt instantly hostile. When we walked in the door to place an order at 8:17pm.. The website states that the restaurant closes at 9:00pm. We arrived to place our order noone else was seated but a lone gentleman sitting, that I think worked there was in the restaurant. The young man manning the counter did not greet us. I had to ask after being greeted with silence if they were open. He replied “for what?” I replied to place an order – to which he replied that they closed at 8:00pm today. No other explanation. Dispite the large flashing OPEN sign in the window and the door being unlocked.. if you’re trying to drive away business, then congratulations, you’ve succeeded.

If I could give them 6 stars I would! Such delicious food and warm and friendly family from the second we walked in. I had mentioned wanting to go here to my husband and he surprised me for my birthday. It was well worth the hour drive. The sandwiches are made with plantains instead of bread and it adds this prefect salty crunch to them that makes you not want to stop eating them. I’m gluten free and I can have most things on their menu, they have dedicated oil, and I had no reactions. If you feel like you need help navigating the menu they are excited to help you. We shared the Sriracha steak and lechon combos with tostones and garlic fries (and ordered 2 to go). We didn’t finish it all as the jibaritos are huge and the sides are a good size too. They were also super sweet and made a birthday dessert which tasted like plantain churros. HIGHLY recommend!!!

Ah, I wish we had these in Cali! So delicious, made us feel right at home and answered all our questions! Loved that the tables had a little “sanitized” marker, and they really did sanitize after each guest thank you!

This small family owned restaurant is everything and more! The food and portion size is amazing. The meat is seasoned perfectly. I recommend the steak Jibarito or if you like a bit of heat try the Buffalo chicken. Rice is cooked to perfection. To top it off, the staff are so polite and friendly. 10/10 recommend. I will definitely be coming back!!

I placed an order online. My order was accepted and the money was taken out of my account. I drove 20 minutes to pick up my food just to find they’re closed. This is very upsetting and I won’t be back. Online says they’re open along with their voicemail. Please don’t accept online orders if you’re going to be closed. Very unprofessional.

I used to frequent this restaurant often in 2018 when I used to work in Des Plaines. I’ve even taken my family from out of the country to your restaurant to give them a taste of Puerto Rican food. I was in the area today and decided to order my usual from this restaurant- fried chicken jibarito con arroz. To my dissapointment, I realized the “friend chicken” in my jibarito was nothing less than a CHICKEN PATTY. How dissapointing to be charged so much for their food for such poor quality. This place is not what it used to be. All to top it off, I tipped the restaurant for a carry out order to support them.. just to be served this. Lastly, I decided to take some time to read your recent reviews and noticed how poorly you treat your customers and how poorly you have handled their complaints. Thanks for nothing, “Chris-cross”. I will never be coming back.

I love this place… I just looked up gluten free options for Chicago… And found a GOLD MINE!!!! I drive out here sometimes 2 or 3 times everytime I’m in Chicago… But the beauty is it’s close the O’hare… So I can hit it once on the way in… The Jibarito are amazing… JIBARITO TIME… Makes the PO Perfect… The S’MORE is awesome… I always have the Lechon… And the people are great!!! Don’t come to Chicago and and skip a trip to JIBARITO TIME!!!!
