I ate lunch here while I was visiting Newfields. It was nice to sit down for a bit, and this cafeteria has a nice, if not somewhat sterile, atmosphere. It seems to be set up not unlike a regular cafe, and I ordered a latte and a soup and sandwich set. I waited a little bit, but service was mostly quick considering there was only one worker I could see. The prices were high, as I expected, but the food tasted great. Both the tomato bisque and the chicken banh mi I got were delicious, although a bit small. This cafe makes for a nice break from walking around the museum, and it’s really the only option in the place for food or drinks.

My caprese chicken sandwich was great. I also got a dirty chai latte and loved it! The employee Allie at the register is so kind and helpful. The place was extremely clean and the staff was all so polite. They were very professional and there is a lot of good seating, great choices for food. I loved the Cajun chicken soup, too. I will definitely be back!

Want a business lunch experience that has a nice ambiance with delicious food delivered to your table quickly? If you answered Yes then head to Newfields Cafe inside the Indianapolis Art Museum. The grilled chicken Caesar salad was abundant with a nice presentation. You do not have to pay to get inside the museum to the cafe. After lunch, should your time permit, stroll through the gift shop located next to the cafe for some art-inspired gifts.

Who knew a museum cafe would be the hidden gem of Indy. Absolutely DELISH food and lots of options. We may come back to Newfields one day just for the food! Staff was friendly and food was out quick. Fresh and quality ingredients!!!

I order the chicken Caesar salad every time because it is SO good! I also love the coffee and my kids really like the cookies. A perfect stop!

Prices look high, but the atmosphere and view is nice, at least if you have an unblocked line-of-sight to Sutphin Fountain outside.

The food was amazing, but costly. I paid a little over $25 for the meal pictured, including both drinks. Not bad if I’m alone, but pretty costly for a family.

Vibe uptight, food overpriced, MSG plentiful. (or WAY too much salt in the chicken strips- dont really know if it was MSG or salt, but there was an “off” chemical taste in addition to the megasalt taste) We visited the weekend after Mothers Day. When the order taker hyperventilates “form a line!!” when there are literally only two small groups of customers near the register trying to decide what we’ll order from this difficult menu, and you get dirty looks from those who seem to be laptop regulars just for having the audacity to walk in with well-behaved children on a weekend, you know that this is an unhappy place. Its possible we happened to be there at a bad moment. A generous 2 stars for having an option to eat on campus at all, and for the friendly folks who brought out our trays & checked on us. That was a nice touch- required if the prices are to remain so high! I’d prefer better quality food though, a manager to clean house or rebudget so that the friendly ones can keep their jobs AND the food quality goes up a notch. Put nice people at the register to take orders and just one person at a time to bus tables unless its a high traffic day.

I did not like the chicken on the Caesar salad I ordered. I was unable to finish the salad. I did like the rolls and the corn chowder. They were both very good! I would go back for the soup and rolls.

One of the best meals I had in a long time! The club sandwich and minestrone soup was delicious. My wife enjoyed her burger on a pretzel bun. Really surprised and satisfied.
