Elegant spot in a converted general store offering eclectic, locally sourced dinners & live music.

I desperately wish I found this place sooner!!!! SO INCREDIBLE! The best service and atmosphere, and all the dishes I tried were amazing! We went on a Sunday night so the live music made our experience extra special. Couldn’t recommend enough, our server Robert was so kind and I will definitely be back!

The Palisades is an excellent choice for dinning! The TV Dinner was both nostalgic and good. The meatloaf reminded me of a home cooked meal and the setup reminded me of the old TV dinners I ate as kid. The pizzas and pork chop my kids got looked really good and according to them tasted great. Great atmosphere and the good prices were a bonus. It was a little loud but they had live music and we still held a regular conversation.

This is a wonderful restaurant! It is located in a building built in the 1920s in Eggleston Virginia. It is a 10 to 15 minute drive from Pembroke on back roads that are absolutely beautiful. Great atmosphere, friendly folks, excellent food! We enjoyed pizzas, chicken and rice soup, and delicious salads.

The drive to the Palisades is twisty, turny, and scenic. Located across the New River from Eggleston Cliffs you start to wonder why would somebody put a restaurant way out here? The answer is so you can appreciate the beauty of Giles County before you enjoy some of the best cuisine in Southwest Virginia. We have eaten at the Palisades several times despite the drive as it is so pretty. Each time the service is excellent, the servers knowledgable, the menu diverse and the food delicious. The grit fritters, the brisket, the lobster roll and chocolate cake were each so enjoyable. The rustic decor includes a wall of cubby holes filled with memorabilia and history. The bar is reminiscent of an old saloon. We look forward to visiting again.

Absolutely fantastic, we were able to get a walk in table for Valentine’s Day and boy did it not disappoint. If you’ve been debating on trying this great place please do it. The service was amazing, the owner came by every table asking for feedback and genuinely cared about customer satisfaction. I felt bad because the only feedback I could give was everything was absolutely amazing. My girlfriend and I have tried other fancy restaurants and were very disappointment. On the car ride back she told me “I wish we knew about this place sooner, we could have gone for every anniversary”. We both got the prime rib with mashed potatoes and green beans, it was absolutely phenomenal. The steaks were perfectly cooked, the mashed potatoes were light and flavorful and the green beans blew me away. Bottom line please make a cook book so I can whip up something similar! Also you have to try the hush puppies they’re so good.

Right up to the door, I wasn’t sure I was in the right place. You’d never know there’s a bustling restaurant in the old general store from the outside, but inside is a cool atmosphere with excellent food. I had the ribeye (just ok) and my companions had the fish of the day (excellent!), flown in fresh from Hawaii! The focaccia bread with a creamy pimento cheese and bacon jam was super.

Local food featured in very well prepared and flavorful dishes. We arrived around 5 pm and were taken care of by the hostess because some server staff was late in getting in. The hostess took excellent care of us and got our meals and beverages timely. We had the airline chicken, which is the chef’s creation which changes frequently. We also had rabbit over Cajun rice, which was tender and full of flavor, yet not overly spicy.

This was our first visit to this restaurant. It came highly recommended by a friend. It may not be the easiest place to get to, but well worth the trip. The food was great as were the cocktails. Very friendly and helpful staff. We’ll be back for sure.

Went here with my family for my cousin’s graduation. They did an decent job to serve us. Only problem I had with the service was our appetizers came out before plates were on the table to put them on not the other way around. Secondly the food was OK but for their seasonal pizzas it was a Lil bit overloaded with toppings. They should have more simplified pizzas in general. The Focaccia was not Focaccia more like glorified corn bread. Some what disappointing. The only thing that impressed me was the Burrata and Beet salad. Atmosphere was busy but I could accept only because it was graduation week. It was so loud I could not hear the person across the table from me. The aesthetics was nice but felt a little bare with nothing but tablecloths and wood floors and trim. Biggest problem with the Atmosphere was the temperature. It was extremely hot inside and even hotter in the bathrooms. There were no fans upstairs and not a breeze of AC at all. All in all I will probably not return

I am always impressed with everything about the Palisades. This place is great. Had new years eve dinner here, super packed but still great service. This is IMHO the best dinner out in the entire NRV and surrounding area. Prices are reasonable but the quality is top notch.
Go here for a special occasion, go here for love music, go here because it’s a random Friday and you want good food.. just visit this restaurant now if you haven’t!!!
This is a gem in the middle of basically nowhere.
