Pav Bhaji 7/10. Dabeli 6/10. Dahi Puri 8/10. Flavors were drowned in spice instead of being balanced — as if they’re trying to cover up average ingredients with pavbhaji or chat masala. Not the quality or authenticity I expected.
What really sent me over the edge was the pricing. $40 for a laughably small amount of food, and then they had the nerve to tack on a 10% “table fee” for… what exactly? We ordered at the counter, picked up our own food, and still got hit with a fee for just sitting. Ridiculous.
To top it off, when I went to the bathroom I saw stacks of frozen parathas and packaged food. So we’re basically paying sky-high prices for grocery-store frozen meals heated up and served on a plate with extra masala.
Save your money. I’ve had way better experiences at other locations of this chain and at countless other Indian spots down the street.
Over all everything is good.
We order the Dabang dosa on every single visit and while the dosa is great 8/10 times, the sambhar with it is only good half the times and is runny/watered down for the other half.
The manchurian from the Indochinese selection is good enough. However, Chili Paneer was a must order for us until they decided to change the recipe last year and the paneer is no longer batter coated fried before adding to the dish which kind of misses out on the crunch it should ideally have.
I have mixed feelings about the service that you have to order yourself and wait for your food to arrive in takeaway containers and then eating out of paper plates/spoons while dining in. However, on our last visit, they added a 10% table service fee on bill which makes you think what was that for now if you throw your own stuff in the bin after eating and cleaning for yourself.
Overall, the food is nice but I guess it’s the experience too that adds up to make or break your next visit.
When we stopped for a food stop and opened the order, The food had onions in it. I was very angry that the elderly person would now have to stay hungry. When I called the restaurant and complained about the negligence, guess what they said? “Toh kya mein food theek banake tumhe dene aaoo kya” (meaning: what do you want me to do, bring the food to you now or what)
Even more arrogant was the response. They said, we will give you a refund…$10 is peanuts when someone’s practice is disturbed.. and an elderly person had to starve. Mr Vijay Gupta, hope you get to read my feedback.. Honest has lost a loyal customer. I have visited your restaurant in Chicago, Tampa, Miami and Cincinnati. I would now never go to any of these…
Pani Puri was the best, Bhel comes next. Pav Bhaji tasted delicious but it’s good to get an additional pav.
Chana Puri wasn’t exceptional due to the oily Puris. Dosa edges weren’t cooked well and had the batter sticking, Sambhar was spicy, but chutneys could have been better. The fried rice tasted delicious, but we felt the quantity was less for the price.
Strongly Recommended for Chaat Items especially Pani Puri and Bhel.
