I’ve seen this restaurant for the last few months and after going to their website and seeing more details about the wood fired pizza oven I decided to give it a try. When I was in the restaurant I realized they have NY style pizza and wood fired. The closest comparison for the wood fired would be V Pizza. But there are some differences. V’s is Italian style, following the Neapolitan pizza style. Emangeo’s takes the brick oven style with the New Haven twist. The dough is different and this makes the difference with a traditional wood fired pizza like V’s. The New Haven style is crispier and holds its form very well vs a Neapolitan style. My daughter and I tried the aPizza (pronounced ‘abeets’) which is typical to New Haven. It was very good it is worth trying at least once. I was skeptical trying a tomato sauce only pizza but it was very good. We also had a wood fired cheese. Again a good pizza, crisp crust with a good balance of sauce and cheese. The brick fired pizzas are more American traditional vs Neapolitan Italian style (ie cheese vs Margarita as a basic comparison). I look forward to going back and trying a few more of the wood fired and also the NY style. We love the pizza from Tony D’s across the street which is a great NY style pizza. So it will be a good comparison.

We recently tried to Emangeo’s brick oven a New Haven style pizza. You’re not going to find a better New Haven style pizza in Jacksonville and I would venture to say in eastern Florida. We tried to white pie, dill pickle pie, and their traditional tomato. All 3 were amazing the crisp the sauce the crust.

I would give this 100 stars out of 5 if I could! I went on opening day because I’m familiar with the Green Cove Springs location and was blown away with the quality of the pizza. New Haven style by far is the best kind of pizza I’ve ever had. It comes with the perfect amount of char on the crust, the sauce is more on the savory side than sweet which is always good, you can tell they use a low-moisture mozzarella cheese because the pizza is not oily, and the undercarriage is cooked perfectly with a nice crisp due to the brick oven cooking method. I hope in the future Emangeo’s is able to franchise all over Jacksonville because this is definitely a hidden gem.

For single dining or a huge group of people Emangeo’s Brick Oven Pizza is the perfect place with something available for everyone! This time I got the fettuccine Alfredo, a Greek salad and tiramisu. Everything was very delicious. On-top of the spectacular food, the service & staff were kind and helpful! I would definitely put this in my restaurant rotation and will be coming back with family and friends!! Be sure to check this place out!!

Native Connecticut girl here…had to check out our new “New Haven style Apizza” in Jacksonville. Excellent!! Great flavor, crisp, char and chew. All the things that make our New Haven pizza the best in the world. The restaurant was clean and ready for customers! Heaven took our order and could not have been more pleasant and all with a huge smile! Met the owners from Wolcott, CT and they were super friendly and appreciative. Will be back again and again!

The pizza here is very delicious—crispy and tasty! We really love it! The desserts are also great—we tried the dessert cookies, and they’re excellent!and this time we have buffalo wind egg roll which is great!

Don’t give this 5 star out lightly. Had seen the reviews and said yes let’s check it out. So glad we did. Got the New Haven style ( they also offer NY Style) 1/2 and 1/2. 1/2 Hawaiian 1/2 sausage and pepperoni. … Delicious and perfection. Served hot, tasty, a little charred, and the quality is superb. Friendly staff cool vibe and our new pizza favorite. Wanted to try the buffalo chicken egg rolls but was too full. Next time for sure.

Always wanted to try a New Haven style pizza. Got a classic apizza and I think mama ts hot honey. The classic apizza was boring as expected but the sausage hot honey was amazing. I really like this style of crust and will absolutely be back.
